I share the same anxiety as you as my DS will be taking his psle in y2012;) all the best to the parents of psle2012, may the force be with us ( or rather our DD / DS )Hi parents of 2012 PSLE kids,
Do you experience a sense of fear walking into the unknown next yr ? This fear has been making me lose sleep at nights of late. Am I doing sufficient with my boy or too much ? I don't want him to be burnt out but don't know if he is doing sufficient practice. :imdrowning: :frustrated:
Next year he will not be going to a good class bcos his results dropped. Eng paper wasnt easy either. Will he get motivated/caring or lousy teachers ? -

DS teacher told him that when school reopen, he will use 1 month to finished all the P6 syllabus. After that will be revisions.
U mean the same teacher will be teaching them for 2 years?
We don't even know our teachers for next year yet. It's nerve-racking cos its such an important year... -
I'm starting to feel the stress now after reading all the posts here on preparation. We've just returned from a big holiday and still suffering from jetlag.
I must start!!!!
Thanks for the warnings  -
There is a book PSLE Survival Guide for the Family. It talks about a family’s journey through the PSLE year. You can find it in your local library. It uses simple english. PSLE students and parents are known to like it.

Janet,
Seeing you sounds worried and couldn't sleep properly makes me feel bad... Don't think too much when you're in bed. If you have already done your best and your boy already put in effort, don't worry too much. Just like a plant, everyday give it some water and sunshine and God will do the rest. Constantly worrying will makes you more tire. Just remember that a good sleep will gives you more energy to fight in the battlefield the next day! My own made verse.
Have a good night sleep & sweet dream! -
Read the article on the second top scorer in PSLE 2011 who says that rest is important to do well in exams I believe we as parents must also make sure our kids have enough rest and not too stress

Don't worry. Keep telling yourself all will be well. 80% of what we worry about don't happen. You are feeling this way also because that appears to be the norm and subconsciously you feel guilty to do the opposite, be relax. Social conditioning of our mind is powerful. It is possible not to be so stressed for PSLE and yet do well. A more relax mind is a clearer one. Keep positive. Take some Bach Flower Essence to help reduce your anxiety. Red Chestnut is good for 'over caring the welfare of love one's. Take care, we are walking with you. -
The tutor is so irresponsible. Hope you find a good tutor for your DD. God Bless!
No, Vitaminz is not in Popular. My school bookshop sells it. You can check in your school bookshop as well. Or even you can request for it. That is what my friend did last year.
I checked with my ds school bookshop but they don't carry this. What is bookshop name? The one that I checked with was Pacific Bookstores. :thankyou:
I found today that my school bookshop dont sell this during this vaccation. They said we can buy after the school opened.
Hi,
I think that Vitamindz worksheets can only be ordered through the school. Therefore if the school decides to use the worksheets, they place an order with the company directly. It is therefore not available for purchase individually. But the authors of the Vitamindz series now have a centre offering classes for P4-P6 Science. Maybe you can check that out... -
Hi, my dd will be taking the psle next yr too. Although I also worried that she can’t get into a gd secondary school but I always tell myself that as long as she has tried her best, I am happy. Sometimes, she will also ask me what happens if she can’t get gd results for her psle? My reply to her is to work hard now so that she will have no regrets later. Anyway, I will be there to walk this journey with her.
