All About Air Fryer

Just to share
I cut the wings into 3 parts, ie drumlet, mid-joint and \"tail\".
For drumlets, I cooked @ 200C for 8 mins (preheated), turned sides and cook @ 160C for another 5-7 mins. Same for mid-joint except @ 160C for 4-5 mins. The smallest section, 180C for 10 mins, flip over and cook another 3-4 mins.linden2000:
You are welcome. One batch about 7-8 chicken wings depending on size of wings (those i use were standard to small sizes).tankee:
thanks for sharing
how many chicken wings can it cook in a batch?
how long to cook the chicken wings?
i can only remember cooking time for the soya sauce version because i just cooked it yesterday
At 180 degrees, about 7 mins, then turn wings to other side and cook for further 7 mins and i added another 2 mins for extra crispiness. So altogether about 16 mins. Will depend on size of wings too. Not following recipe so a bit of trial and error. As long as don't overcook and chau da, can just add minutes if not enough.
There were 2 recipe books that come together with airfryer and those will give more precise timings. But i haven't had time to buy the ingredients so yet to try out those recipes inside. -
Quite tempted to buy the fryer. Could I know if it is difficult to clean the fryer after cooking?

hi Blessed Homemaker, does the Philips Airfryer consume alot of electricity? Now that electricity tariff keeps going up, this is also a big consideration.
Also, how is it different from the conventional oven? -
It's quite difficult with all those skin/crumbs stuck onto the basket. But I've just learnt that I'm not doing it the correct way. Still experimenting, will keep you posted.

Not sure how much though but watts is lower than my oven so there are already some savings.

To add on, baking in the oven takes approx. 40mins-1hr for 1 batch (15 mid joints in my oven). Using the Airfryer, I can only fry 8-9 mid joint wings at any one time but the cooking time is greatly reduced ie less than 15 mins for each batch. So to do 15 wings, I fry in 2 batches. In total, I need only 30mins using the Airfryer as compared to 40 mins-1 hr in my oven.

What about the cleaning part? Is it easy to clean the airfryer? And does the food taste as good as oven baked? Can I put in salmon or cod fish to airfry?

Just bought mine at Jurong Poing NTUC, comes with 2 free gifts - a 3-in 1 cutting board and 3 cans of soup (think its fish maw, sharks fin and something else) redeemable at Philips Toa Payoh.
Tried using it on that day - potato wedges and nuggets turned out well, no oil needed. For fish, I tried Saba and Salmon but put little oil on advice of promoter - the Saba was kind of dry but Salmon was ok, but instead of 'deep fried', it turned out to be something like 'grilled'.
