regarding teaching and study , Anyone can share some information what is the difference between Gep classes and Mainstream classes?

No differences at all……..it is only in YR3 that they are separated based on areas of specialty etc.. sciences or humanities etc….

perhaps some parents missed some sentences when the P spoke about the WHOLE school being on enriched curriculum with GEP pedagogy

the predominantly-GEP-boys' classes and classes without GEP boys are meant for easier progress monitoring

while the mainstream boys in the predominantly-GEP-boys' classes are assumed able to fit in and they will be monitored and helped** in adapting to the rigour of predominantly-GEP-boys' classes

** help = some instructional sessions with teachers, and once the teachers deem that they are coping well, they just flow along. if the boys came in with high 26X, they usually flow in very well

it liked NS Amy training , very very tough :scared: they'd limited time to shower, eat and sleep....Ds got gestric and he lost his voice due to non-stop shouting . I'm so regret tt I forgot to let him bring the sun lotion ..

that's what my son said too. He said shower time didn't have time to bathe properly. Just one shower foam - wash all hair, face, body. He looked as red as a lobster when he came home :yikes:

was it like that also in the past year?? I mean the shouting and punishment?

My friend's son just came from year 3 camp, he said the activity was very tough. :slapshead: :frustrated:

DS told me that RI has arranged for transportation to bring the Year 1s to MOELC n back to RI tmrw. Hmm … Quite impressed! Boys were also informed to take heavy lunch as there will not be any dinner. Third Lang classes will end at 5 tmrw for the investiture ceremony.

Yes, my ds said that too. But I find it's not very good for their digestive health, don't u think?

VSK, but your DS not taking third Lang right? Then perhaps he can get something fr e canteen aft the raffles trail to tahan till 8+?

Agree not too good for digestive purpose, esp for ppl w gastric like my DS. But looks like they'll have to get used to soon n once CCA kicks in, it may be worse.

Any parents attending the CCA Trail this afternoon? Most probably, i wont be attending, as i need to be at DS2’s school this afternoon too (is it ok for parents not to attend?).Will let DS1 decide for himself which CCA to take up. Heard from DS1 that they have to list 9 core CCAs (4 Sports, 3 Musicals, 2 Uniform Groups) on the CCA form, in order of preference.
