      First A1 clinched for CL!

Newlykiasu: Mrs Chua is a really humourous Chem teacher, though she's quite strict when it comes to her cadets and I expect her to be as such towards her form class.

Ichigokun: Not sure about any of your teachers!

Some pretty good results for Os this year, especially with the Maths. Emaths has a 95% distinction rate and Amaths 89 if I am not wrong. The Sciences around the 80 mark and some of the Humanities too. English is the black sheep this year with only about 50+% distinctions.

      Congrats!

Few yrs ago, there was a very good humanities teacher, Mr. Krishnan Pillay, who was partly instrumental in developing the potential of an old boy, Nicholas Tay, President cum Safos scholar, yr 2009. He is now a vp in another sch. Senior teacher, Ms. Adeline Krishnan, who i believe is still in CHS is also highly regarded particulary for history. My ds was privileged to hve both of them as his ss and history teachers respectively.

Just hope that yr cohort can break the mean score of 9.

They have to select their CCA preferences by Thursday, is it??

        Yes, Thursday is the deadline.

Anybody knows if the sports CCA curriculum goes all year through or it take a breather after the inter school games? All the sports CCA look heavy going.

Performing Arts too seem v time consuming, anybody here has any idea if there wld b 3 practice sessions a wk thru out the yr, or only if there is a performance/competition?

That's something that I hope to get clarification for sports CCA as well. Maybe your son can ask the teacher in charge during the CCA exhibition this Wed or email the teacher in charge. But I did notice a small note at the end of second page where it says with the exception of sch reps CCAs will only take up 1-2 sessions per week.

CCA was very tough indeed, usual trainings for us on normal days are twice a week, but as a performance/competition comes closer, we have trainings during weekends, school holidays, even in the morning.

A month or two before SYF, we had morning trainings (7am) every Mon, Wed and Fri, and we would join the other Performance Arts CCA for another assembly. Sometimes we also have full-day sessions, so we have to skip lessons.

Tough training, We had 5 Gold W/ Honours last year, 1 Gold and 1 Silver.

Tomorrow will be an exciting day for everyone at CHS.. the Principal, the teachers, the students, the parents.. as GCE O Levels results will be released tomorrow! Even we parents of CHS Pri are nervous & excited too!!! šŸ™ :

I wonder how CHS sec did. Looks like SNGS has 2 top girls again though.

I just realised something. Notice none of the top scorers are from the \"legendary\" school RI? LOL.

Anyway, CHS also has two guys with 10 A1s what šŸ˜“ they should also be considered top.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Go CHS seniors!! All of u are awesome! :rahrah: :rahrah:

Considering the fact that 99.7% of the cohort are eligible for JC, that's very good šŸ˜‚
