Choco05:
Thnks for the feedback. Still considering, although my mum wants me to take up French instead, because she says it sounds nicer == (no offence to ppl taking German).KuroYuri:
I am entering sec 1 next year and am considering taking up German. However, my Chinese is not all that great either and with more subjects, i'm afraid it may be more difficult to cope. Any advice?
Hi i'm sec 1 this year just survived a year of 3rd Lang[Jap]. I guess it depends on your interest in the language itself:) Unless you are taking Japanese i don't think Chinese actually matters much in 3rd Lang. If you really want to give it a try i say why not go for it? For all you know you might do well in it:) Even if you don't you can always drop it.
For me 3rd Lang actually helps in pulling my grades up. Do you know that you can actually take the grade of your 3rd Lang to substitute a subject in school? This applies to humanities only i think. But it still helps.
I'd like to know, if I were to attend lessons at the moelc at bishan, for French, when are the lessons every week? And if it clashes with ccas, are we allowed to transfer class? -

Choco05:
Thanks, Choco05. The clerk must have given me this year's timing instead.
For RGS, it is once a week on Friday, for 2012. And it's 3h 15mins each time. For Japanese next year it would be from 2.30pm-5.45pm. I'm an RGS girl and i take Jap:)
You have been most helpful.

Hehe i took Japanese all the way up to A levels and I really enjoyed it.
Although I didn't do very well, only A2 and B.
I think it was really tough to manage time--I lived in Clementi and had to travel home by MRT which takes 2 hours. Also, I take CLEP too, which has lessons until 6, and sometimes I reach MOELC at 7 with only 30min more to the lesson.
The japanese lessons are very fun, the canteen is great it sells ice cream, coke, and other unhealthy stuff :D, the library is full of cool manga and videos, we watch japanese variety shows, and at the EOY there is games and sushi-making and anime movies.
It is certainly much more enjoyable than CLL or ELit, I heard.
However, it requires much studying because you don't really speak Japanese outside (not unless you want people to think you're \"showing off\") and there's not much time to watch anime anyway. I would study and memorise kanji on my way back home though.
I have never regretted taking Jap, although I do wish I had been able to devote more time to it! -

Haha i suppose that's back in time, right? The Bishan MOELC no longer sells coke. Or ice cream. Though they have plenty of cup noodles. And so far we only watched 2 animes throughout the whole year:OHehe i took Japanese all the way up to A levels and I really enjoyed it.

can someone pl share their experience of learning Arabic? the level of difficulty for an average person? How long is one lesson and how many times a week? Many thanks.

Arabic? wow, that sounds βcheemβ. My son is learning Japanese now but struggling with it. Any suggestions on how he can improve?
