I just wrote the following in response to another query on Catholic Kindergarten in this forum:
Hi, sorry if this comes late for you, but hopefully it’s useful for other parents. I don’t know about Living Sanctuary Kindy, but my sons are in Catholic Kindy and I’ll share what I can.
Price-wise, Catholic Kindy is a good deal, for the campus is reasonably large given the low-ish school feels ($600/term for 3 hours/day). It’s an open-air campus with a playground yard and waterplay area. It’s not new nor swanky, but maintenance is ok. The kids wear their socks & shoes throughout the day.
The admin and teachers are generally great. There’s a lot of continuity through the levels, and many teachers have been there for years. The younger teachers are remarkably enthusiastic, and the older teachers are loving. The kids learn to sing Christian songs and pray. I do wish the class sizes were smaller (16:2 at Pre-N level and 22:2 at K1 level) but this goes hand-in-hand with the school fees.
The school organises outings about once a term (e.g. the Pre-N kids will go to Cold Storage and Macdonalds) and there are additional charges. You will have to be quite hands-on with their homework (starts in Nursery) and classroom activities. For e.g. they will often bring home notes from the teacher asking for specific items to be brought to school as learning aids. -
Hi.
I'm also planning to send my daughter to CK next year when she turns 3.
I managed to find out the registration date for pre-N but unfortunately I fall under Phase 3 (non alumni & non catholic)...sigh...what are the chances of getting a place? Doi need to queue overnight since the registration is opened to the public?
Please advise. Thanks. :scared: -

In the past, parents could sign up even past the Phase 3 registration date, and get a place in the afternoon session (which is less popular than the morning one). I recall that in 2008, when I registered my older son, my husband went about 30 min before registration opened, he was 7th in the queue, and we got a place in the afternoon session. In 2010, my friend queued at 6.30am (if i recall correctly) but couldn’t get a place.
Things change quickly nowadays. Nonetheless, even if you don’t get a place on registration day, you can always request to be wait-listed as successful applicants do drop out in the 9 months between registration and start of school.
The school might be able to advise you on demand for places in Phase 1 and 2 so you can gauge your chances.
