Step-by-step was one of my DS's 1st assessment book, he used it during P1. I also thk it is pretty good too.

Agreed with evergreen the challenging part is pretty difficult - s'times i need to flip the answer sheet to find out the answers... :boogie:

This yr i did not get the same book, wanted to try sth different... so trying Distinction in maths (by JUST) now, he still can manage the sums on his own, but he cant when he does \"Challenging Maths\"...
But the progress is superslow ..so difficult to squeeze out time for assessment books!!.........(not to mention there are other subjects..)

banging my head, how to teach algebra for lower level

        900- ( )=603
        ( )-127=343
        ( )-674=279

        any kindsoul, pls explain
Tought my 2 dds, jump the bridge. I took = as the bridge.
First, must expl to them what is the opp. Opp of + is -, opp of X is /.
When jump over, it will change, eg. + becomes - etc..

As it doesnt sound as serious and both dd accept it quite well. I started teaching my elder dd since end of P3, partly because am not so good in model, hence use algebra......give it a try.

          Hi Mummies,

I bought this title recently as daughter's teacher advised me to brush up on HTO. Usually not one to get Casco, I find that this title is able to help her build her confidence as there are 4 levels of difficulty...starting with 'drill' which has 3 exercises before going on to the next level. Have bookmarked this for P3. http://i43.tinypic.com/244wkue.jpg\">
I find this book to be very good. You can buy this series for your child until pri 4. From pri 5 onwards, you can buy the Casco Mathematics tutor. A very detailed book and have many practices for your child.

Can i check if any parents check out/use this assessment book?

Popular said this is a revised version and they said this series has been selling v well :

I currently have Fabian Ng book (still untouched), just wondering if getting the above seems like duplicate as both are problem sums.

                    Hi,

I think no need to buy the new problem sum book if you already have Fabian Ng's book. PSP already has lot of good methods and worked examples for kids to follow.

I also saw the book u mentioned at popular yday but did not buy it πŸ™‚
I am using Fabian's book to practice problem sum with my DD1 who is P2.

                      Hi,
When I look at the link that you provided above, saw that both have the same Item Code\t: 9789814112062 Popular online
                      ISBN 9814112062 Casco website

My guess maybe one is the old and the other is the new edition (Casco website the cover page states Latest MOE Syllabus).

Maybe you can call up Casco to check it out! πŸ˜„

my daughter is presently using step by step by casco. I get her to revise using 'drill' (ie reinforcement). 'Perform' is harder and 'Challenge' is toughest level. Also using Visible Thinking.
