      HVR:

That's where people are mistaken. Pro govt doesn't mean pro PAP. If one day another party can form a better govt, we should vote it in. Like you, I am just worry we might vote in an incompetence party to replace PAP govt. CSM and Sylvia Lim look promising but you have to really worry when someone wish and express their desire to see some pretty opposition faces in the parliament.

Should have more faith that we (KSPers) are not daft and will not vote in people whom we think are 草包 unless this 草包 got voted in by GRC...

We are all pro-Singapore. All 草包, whether they are in the PAP or whatever camp, have to get out instead of otherwise...

I'm with HVR on this. I will vote for which ever party that is able to take care of my family's welfare & ensure our relative well being. Currently, that happens to be the PAP Govt. Now, even LKY hv hinted that the status quo may change in the future, in the form that We may see a non-PAP govt ruling Singapore. We, the citizens hold our future in our own hands. Who we vote in, we live with for 5 yrs. Sometimes, we ought to use our brains more than our hearts when we choose our leaders....

i find it strange that people keep saying that ltk must know what his subordinates are up to. Hello, even your own kids, you may not know what they are up to outside. If he wants to know, then he pronably need to employ PI.

What YSL did, his EMA, with an active WP member, no less, is I believe not easily camouflaged. It's hard to mask affairs of the heart. YSL's fellow colleagues wld surely hv spotted it, or suspected some impropriety, but may hv just conveniently dismissed it. Anyways, my take on this was due to the fact that LTK was a mentor to YSL, & shd thus know YSL pretty well...! U r however, right by saying that we may not even know what our kids do outside of the home... Well, therefore it behooves us to be responsible parents in inculcating right values to our child from young, no excuse. Ask yourself, how well do u know your child? Do u know when he or she is lying to u? How well do u know ur leaders? Well, u know them by association & through time testing. The current PAP Govt have stood the test of time & hv proven itself. Not saying they r perfect, cause as humans, we r not perfect, but it's the best we've got...!

I didn't read any news about the private tutor or any other women besides the WP party member. IMHO, EMA is not a crime so why did he have to skip town? :? Unless there's more than meet the eye, no need to run what. Of course he may just feel that there's no more future for him here. Seems to be a very high price to pay then. 🤷

High price or no price to pay, by running away & to the dismay of LTK, who probably only knew of this fact through the media, show how lack of respect he is towards his mentor, LTK & to the party tt helped him secure his MPship, gives a very clear picture of who YSL really is...! In my humble opinion, EMA is a crime, albeit of the heart. By acts, YSL has wrecked not only the bond & trust in his family, but also that of the women's families. The reason that some of us may feel EMA is not serious, is because we have been desensitized by TV, Movies & the Medias, whose programs promote EMA, & even glorify & glamorize tt...\"till death, do us part\" has no more place in our thought processes. Really sorry state....

Aye aye, DPM TCH said so himself:

\"The assessment of an individual is a very difficult thing and a person whom you may know for three years, 10 years, may have some weaknesses which are only uncovered later and which may develop later.

\"The important thing in such cases is to be clear, accountable and transparent and how an organisation responds to such things defines the organisation.\"

btw, a new legislation 'quietly' put in place just a few years back
does not allow PI to suka suka investigate MPs without proper clearance hor.

d revelation fr private tutor (married PRC who also helps him in translation)
is probably d tipping point in d lead up to YSL abandoning his post.
Having someone intimately involved collaborating d allegations has made his position untenable.
Its gud dis episode shows his lack of resilience early rather than later.
Nevertheless, cld empathize with him dat on a personal front -
he has indeed paid a very heavy price for his indiscretions.
