Q&A - P3 Math

Hi Tianzhu.. it is in their Maths Homework book and if I'm not mistaken they have this kind of questions at the end of one/every chapter. I guess you are probably right that they are brainteasers. But DD was too tired so it was my brain that had to be teased :frustrated:.. No fun esp with my 1yr old boi boi so cranky waiting for me. There were a couple of questions like that for today's homework. :faint: I have found the answer and it was from number bonds plus guess n check. Hence I wanted to find out if there are other ermmm easier or shortcut ways.

Good Morning.

For P3 kids, I think number bonds with GC and logic reasoning is a good approach.

The other way is to use boxes to represent the digits in a pictorial way. I am not too sure if it’ll be shorter but it’s definitely more mechanical.

Bcmum mentioned earlier that this question was from her son’s enrichment centre. It looks more like a brain teaser rather than a question on Gap and Difference.

Depending on the child's preference,he/she may look at the question from different angles and uses alternative way.Use the method your child is comfortable with.
