      Hi Tianzhu,
The questions are from the enrichment centre that my son attends. It is part of the heuristics questions. Appreciate your advice. Thks.

      Hi

Due to time constraints, I’ll be only taking Q1. For the rest of the questions, please check with your child’s enrichment centre.

For P3 kids, some form of drawing might help.

      Best wishes

Thanks for your help.[/quote]Tianzhu, I am trying to understand this type of questions - it looks similar to the gap and difference type of questions but we can't seem to use the gap and difference method for this.

Is there another way of explaining this - listing or something. TIA.

        Hi

Bcmum mentioned earlier that this question was from her son’s enrichment centre. It looks more like a brain teaser rather than a question on Gap and Difference.

Depending on the child's preference,he/she may look at the question from different angles and uses alternative way.Use the method your child is comfortable with.

        Best wishes

hi!! I have a problem please let me know why the answer is not $20.

Rajan spent four times as much as Carol. If Rajan sent $60 more than Carol, how much did Carol spend?

Answer given in the book is $15. Why hah??

            HI,
S20 should be the correct answer.

That means the Andrew Er math companion P 3 book has the wrong answer sheet. I actually doubted myself.

                    Hi peapot,

                    The key point is 24 / 4 = 6

                    ____/5 = 6
                    ____x3 = 6
                    ___/10 = 6
                    ____/3 = 6

                    24/4 = _6_ = _30_/5 =_2__x3 = _60_/10 = _18_/3 = _6_
