      hi kuzco,
thks for yr sharing. oh, i understand what u meant by \"he was quite annoyed when I kept asking him about the test. He was not in a mood to talk about school work any more.\" same as my dot, if not becos yesterday's evening she told me about the english online test, we have not been mentioning abt the psle thingy for quite sometime.
even when i asked her which sec schools she wanna to choose, she just act cool saying, \"see the T-score first\". :x only left the poor mummy here cracking her head.
It's also strange that your dd's test was online, while mine was pen and paper in the classroom.

But most intriguing is, what is the purpose of this test???? :?

          atutor2001:

However, if this English test involves every single P6 students, then it is very interesting because survey is usually conducted using smaller sample size and not for the entire population.
          hi atutor2001
i am also wondering whether the english test involves every p6 pupils or not as i don't see many parents here talking abt it.
also the pupils are taking at differnt date and time, so are they having the same set of questions? anyway, there're lots of questions marks in this thingly.

          hi kuzco,
oh yr child had taken the hard copy test?
isit becos there're insufficient computers to go ard? but there are near to 300 P6 pupils in gal's sch, they also need to go on rotation to take the test. heard the test is scheduled next monday.

            Hi Augmum

Looking at the way the test is conducted, it has to be a survey. Anyway there should be a major overhaul to the English syllabus in the near future with such an extensive test being conducted.

            Regards

              hello atutor2001

i guess probably they used it as a benchmark for setting next yr psle english paper......... since many of them felt that the english paper was easy .......
to see how far our P6 pupils can be stretched......... 😄

                kuzco:

My son's class (not sure whether the whole P6 cohort in his school or not) sat for a MOE test in English (I think) one or two days after the PSLE. I asked him what kind of test it was and he was not sure. There was no word from the teacher about it. I am just as puzzled as you guys are. 😐

hi kuzco, yr son already taken the english test, what is the test abt? are all the components in the main paper being tested or just part of it?

                hi all

just to update and answer to my query abt the moe english online test which i posted here few days back. (hmm.........i know it's an uninteresting topic to parents here as all the excitment had drawn to the GEP thread.......... wow.......judging from the overflowing inputs but i thot i shd update here since my gal had taken the test today).

dot told me that all the components of the english main paper was tested but the number of questions were reduced. total of 27 questions, allowable time was 45 minutes........and she said \"is easy\" ok.........that's all.

Why do they do this? PSLE's over, for goodness sakes! But it doesn't seem to be at all schools? Curiouser and curiouser.

Not that I'm aware of. They've just been having all sorts of excursions and fun activities. No mention of tests at all.

my girl did not take the test too. I think it was conducted randomly at selected school. Should not affect their PSLE
