We did the same too, labelled every piece of stationery etc, DS son kept on being missing for a day or two, then returned, then he had extras!!.. eraser from 1 big piece, became smaller & smaller & smaller...now DS say wanna go book shop buy...we say NOOOOOOOO.....it cost $1....told DS only after we have used all the inventory (courtesy of Birthday parties etc)

Where do the tone marks go?
β’A and e trump all other vowels and always take the tone mark. There are no Mandarin syllables in Hanyu Pinyin that contain both a and e.
β’In the combination ou, o takes the mark.
β’In all other cases, the final vowel takes the mark.
Was going through dd's ε¬ε... and found out she didn't know above... and the teacher haven't taught them... esp the ou thingy... expect the kids to memorise?
