Thanks Firefly, and congrats to e good grades your DS is achieving thus far. I did not even know about history test. I knew it was in the circular they brought back but apparently info on that is not quite accurate. My DS told me e philosophy test is next week but circular states as this week. It's quite confusing ...

Not to worry, paddy.. Maybe different teachers administer various tests on different days, depending on the class' time-table. For instance, DS' Philosophy teacher told the class that there would be Philo Test this week (Mon or Thurs). Since the class did not have the test on Monday, the boys expect the test would be on Thursday (today). Think DS' class has not have their History Test yet. Will check with DS when he comes home later.

I'm not worried, just confused. Aft DS psle, he's pretty much on his own. That was why I let him settle his own CCA appeal. I seem to declare myself free from motherhood n gotten back to my crafting n painting. But now i m forced to act again. Sigh! Ds met e waterpolo coach yesterday n the coach seemed surprised that he's not in e team.

Shall see what his doc says during his next review.

Yesterday ds came back and tell me that his CCA, Boys Brigade needs a lot of stuff - like uniform (shirt and pants), boots, sash, cap, polo shirt. Wonder how much it's going to cost.... :moneyflies:

Usually in UG, these items are inevitable. Looks like I have to act fast bf they ask my DS to buy all these stuff too. Imagine spending n using for only 6 months!!

I thought appeal period is over? But if your ds has a medical condition, then I suppose can still appeal. All the best! :xedfingers:

ps - I actually asked ds if he wants to change to maybe guitar? I heard it's quite easy to get in. But he wants to stick with BB

It is not true that guitar is easy to get in. Several of DS friends placed guitar as top choices but still didnt get in. 1 of them is appealing but still no news of success yet. They are only taking 13 year one this year.

Want to help a fren find out more if anyone here heard of an MOE new initiative - Music Telent Development Centre? Anyone ds/dd has participated in the programme? If so what kind of time commitment like and whether worth the time spent? Does it add value to the students profile beside get to attend free lessons? understand it is not to substitute cca attendance.

Maybe your friend meant, once you get into Guitar, it is relatively 'easy', compared to other core musical CCAs. For instance, Guitar's 4 hours a week is definitely less time-consuming than RV's 8 hours a week (Wed 3.30-7pm, Sat 8.30am-1pm).

Perhaps your friend didn't mean 'easy' to get into Guitar. DS has friends who put Guitar as 1st choice but didn't get selected (and they do have musical background too).

BTW, ds went for kayaking over the weekend. He found it enjoyable but came back very very red! Got sunburnt even though he applied sunblock. Anyway, he should be getting his certificate in kayaking - hopefully. (must pass then can get the cert). He said it's a very strenuous activity - the kayaks are very heavy. It's good training for NS - haha! But the important thing is - he is enjoying it šŸ™‚
