MOE Relooking P1 registration - Too much priority to alumni
-
janet_lee88:
If I am an old girl of certain school, I would want my daughter to attend that same school...why would I consider a school which I do not know. Of course, I will take into consideration the distance.
So now you change your mind? Now you are all for alumni? I am not getting this. -

the faster your child enter P1, the better!

3Boys:
ya.... there should be a cap on this just like there is a cap in P2B
So perhaps a restriction on the percentage (which should be small) for alumni, and to ballot it the applications exceed for that phase, and the rest for 2B/C. -

pple are grumbling cos things do not go in accordance with their plans - hence not abt the distance/ phases issue - but rather a 'popular school issue'.
:rahrah: the whole issue evolve around popular schools. Think typical neighbourhood schools don't have this issue -

:goodpost:
But BEFORE entering the school, they have NO concept of the tradition! Can they not have the same positive experience in a DIFFERENT school? Its us adults transferring our sentiments onto the child, its our own vanity, if I may say so. -
limlim:
That will be at Phase 2A(2)
of \"existing students\" only..3Boys:
Siblings is Phase 1.
or applies to ex-student also? (i.e. age gap > 6 yrs.) -
caroline3sg:
he school can take PV from existing students' parents if they need help. These parents have stake in their children's well being, so they are naturally a good choice.
This is ideal but reality not many parents will want to be involved. -

Get rid of the grassroot priority. Don't you think it is an abuse by the ruling party to give school priority to volunteers who further its own political cause? I mean regardless of WHO is the ruling party. In future it could be an opposition party. Any ruling party should NOT abuse the system to give priority to its own grassroot people.
grassroot organisation also organised community events together with the school. So not entire true that those GRLs have no contribution to the school
