$6000 a month is equivalent to a middle income earner. Or equivalent to $1500/subject. That's scary!

Look, some people earn $200 per hour and not per day 😂

What job got $200/hr? I want to work.

We actually did do DS' homework for him last year a few times. His SA1 papers were so difficult and his homework was so easy from WITHIN the level. There was so much easy homework that he had no time to practise the difficult sums from BEYOND the level.

My greatest fear now is that this will happen in secondary school too... where homework is easy and tests test BEYOND what is taught. If that is so, the child NEEDS the enrichment, and someone to do the EASY homework.

Please somebody... tell me this is NOT happening with your kids in secondary school?
Huh? Easy homework n difficult test?! Teach less Learn more!

No wonder the enrichment centers are hvg such long waitlist!! So the 'learn more' is via external 'help'!

          Haiz!!! Something is wrong!! :slapshead:
Anyone want me to do their kids' homework? I can handwrite it too. Got discount. Only $150 per hour 😄

if u decide to employ your expensive and new \"high flyer\" maid from the other maid thread  , then u must take on a lot of homework assignments to pay for his housework assignments. :rotflmao:

            😉

If I hire that maid I will hire him as a tutor! I think he'll make a lot of money as a tutor. Maybe i can convince him to let me be his agent for a low commission. :D
:rotflmao: :rotflmao:

            sounds like good idea 😉

Exactly, nowadays not only do teachers dont teach, they dont even mark the work given out. Of course, there are still some nice teachers around who really go beyond what is expected of them.

To top it off, she pays people to do her son's homework when he can't cope with the combination of school and tuition assignments.
She pays $200 per hour if they have to swing by before midnight and $250 an hour when it's later...\"

Something is seriously wrong here... :yikes:
Hey, parents, don't forget the parents are the ones who think they are having the 'last and best laugh' hor. Maybe they are right and we are wrong? When you have so much wealth, what is S$6k really?

:skeptical: Think you are right......when one has sooooo much wealth, what is $6K? There are many out there who are spending thousands & thousands in all these enrichment/tuition etc. Anyway, it's all relative isn't it? What seems a lot to me....is peanuts to another 🤷

the kid who has been spoon fed will never learn how to fish for himself / herself…

the more i read about all these articles, the more I wonder and question : "Something is seriously wrong with our education system!??"

The "norm" now is all or most kids have extra classes beside school and the "abnormal" one are the kids without…damn…then i should get panicky cause my kid is "abnormal" At times, when my emotion takes over, I start to source for all the enrichment centers information and schedule. But having try a few, I still feel the best is parent’s involvement and not total outsourcing…but don’t think many parents think like this …and so in the end…my son will still lose out? xian…tired of the education here…now

Are we telling our children that MONEY can solve all problems?

MONEY buys quality homework, project work…etc
                        MONEY buys quality sleep…
                        Sounds like a good deal…?

I hope the tutor(s)who is/are helping the kids to do their homework is/are not ex- teachers…

I did encounter students who paid their classmates to do their homework.
Of course when the teachers found out these "homework business", these students were punished accordingly.

When there is a demand, there will always be a supply.
