Parent pays nearly $6,000 a month in tuition fees
-
Tution fee of S$6k/mth is too extreme. I rather pay myself to teach to my kid.

-
Is there really a problem with our education system or is it more the mindset of the parents?
I put more $$ in my kids’ physical activities like swimming and dancing than in tuition for them, and readin articles like these trigger a fear factor that I am not doing enough for my kids academically and it takes a lot of conscious effort to not fall into that trap …
Now … I am not so sure … but my kids are happy, balanced in work and play. Should I be too concern? -
I guess if this topic can generate so much heat and \"tsk tsk tsk\" from parents here, we can only conclude and be thankful it's only the minority that will go to extreme.
Most parents till opt for middle ground.
Anyway, how many have such resources to throw in for the kid? Esp if it's more than 1 kid. -

I'm sure you're not the only parent who's concerned. Me too.Is there really a problem with our education system or is it more the mindset of the parents?

Should we do more, do less, do nothing?
I'll just take this as a reference on the future challenges.
Hope common sense prevail when it's my turn.

I find this parents blogger gives a balanced view on the advantages and disadvantages of home tuition vs tuition centre.

Personally, I think tuition is money well spent, if its not too expensive. Certainly not $6000 a month. -
