      Canvas:
Has anyone tried hiring child sitters who come to your house maybe once or twice a week? This is a common practice in western countries as most do not have live-in help but what about in Singapore? I am a SAHM who is up to my neck with the children and housework that I feel that the poor hardworking husband has been neglected. Hoping to hire someone who can come in now and then so that I can spend some quality time with DH. We have been stuck at home most evenings because the children go to bed early. I know DH really wants to do some sports like cycling or running but with me.

Last time my mother provided such service.
      But now she has retired.
Maybe you can advertise your requirements online?
Btw, I have pm you, Canvas.

Maybe can request a copy of NRIC.
Last time my mom had her fair share of stories.
One household she went, the mother (i think single parent) left her son with my mom for the night. Said would be back by 11pm but in the end came back at 2am and worst of all, drunk!
Then dinner did not provide for her child. My mother tried to search for food but nothing at home at all, not even instant noodles. In the end she had to go and buy food for the child.

It's not too bad as my DS (9yo) will be with his toddler sister. Hiring a child minder is the same as hiring domestic helpers, one needs to give the other person some trust and benefit of doubt. Of course, my husband and I must meet her and my family are comfortable with her.

I will pay the market rate, unless of course, the child minder is trained in some specialized area.

                  Jeda...

Why? You wanna leave DS1 and DS2 with me to go stargazing with Jedadad is sit?

Dun be surprised if he does his homework neatly from the next day onwards.. šŸ˜‰ Plus my DD1 loves Lego too and we still have our Junior Engineer gears to pit his creativity against her. For that... hmmm.. how much considered reasonable?

Still can remember DS2 holding my hand.. dun want to let me go home. šŸ˜‰
