Child abduction at AMK Hub
-
When Mas Selamat escaped, posters were put up everywhere.
For stamping out, we can:
1) educate our kids on the recent cases and hold on to their hands whenever & wherever we go out (which is evident from advice here)
2) Principals to highlight to students the recent cases during assembly and perhaps have stricter adherence on pick up, more parent volunteers on the road outside school before & after dismissal (look out for suspicious vans, lend helping hand if unfortunate thing happen).
3) raise public awareness by highlighting the cases on national TV -
After reading from FB, I speak to my girl everyday regarding this. To follow daddy and mummy when out the house. Told her what is the consequences when she is being lead away by strangers if she don't follow us and ran around by herself.
I will educate her each time we step out of the house without fail to make sure she understands what am I driving at.
Sound a bit KS though but is better be safe than sorry, you never know the next victim will be you. :xedfingers: -
I agreed with Caroline3sg. All Singaporeans and parents should unite in stamping out child abduction. Will be more alert to the surroundings and stand up to help to bring those abductors to face justice and not let them have chance to slip away.

Haha!
Time to take away the PS3, then.
Gaming has affected his reality!
there is no such thing as super iron man war machine with super duper repulsor unibeam rocket laser cannon!
there is only Iron Man and War Machine (separate entity) with repulsor blast (Iron Man), unibeam (Iron Man) and rockets (mostly War Machine) and Lasers (both have)
tsk tsk tsk
sorry for the OT
You actually \"correct\" children's imagination. :rotflmao: My boys don't have PS3 games nor watch shows. They know the characters through reading marvel comics.
Boys' imagination are ever so rich, all they ever want to encompass all the powerful weapons into one lah. :rotflmao:

Dino_Mummy:
will inform my SIL to do so, thank you and LOLMum for the suggestionThe recent cases of near child abduction and some references to Hong Kong Disneyland's missing children cases got me scared.
Thought of bringing him to HKG disneyland but think i will drop the idea now.
Pinky,
I agree with LOLMum that this should be highlighted to the school principal as well. Better be safe, kiasu than sorry. -

Just read in the ST about a model teacher sexually abused 3 pupils after luring them with a PSP. :yikes:

besides worrying about abductors, parents have to worry about perverts in schools and those lurking in the dark corners…sigh… what is happening to our society??
One day after a suspected kidnapping case happened in Ang Mo Kio Hub, a 10 year old boy was almost led away by a stranger outside his primary school!
The shocking incident happened along Simei Street 5 this Monday. A 59 year old aunty brought her ten year old grandson to school and left him at the entrance:

A few minutes later, she saw him being led away by a woman in her 40s towards a van. When confronted, the woman said it is a case of ‘mistaken identity’ and walked away as if nothing happened.
A police report was subsequently lodged, but the grandmother was told by the police officers that they never received such ‘complaints’ before.
The ‘modus operandi’ appears to be similar to a case in Hong Kong two weeks ago where a child was almost led away by a PRC woman to a van outside his primary school.
-
