Anyone has good English Programme or Home one to one tutor to recommend? I’m highly concerned as my son is sitting for PSLE next year and he really needs help for his English esp cloze passage, compreh and composition. We stay in the West. Thanks!

[quote=\"lizawa\"]what is the results that they are guaranteeing ? And intensive Maths for 5 days ? I don't think the child can take it. Is it 5 continuous days ?

BTW, I remembered last year when my son was in P6, there was somebody organizing such programs and he uses RI campus for it. It was popular and cost about 100+, for 1 day lesson. This was done on a yearly basis, after the Prelims and before the PSLE. So he will take all the current year Prelims Maths paper from the top schools and use them in the class.

True, the person who conducts a one day workshop for Maths at RI is Ernest Wong and his contact number is 91091506

My son did this and I found it quite helpful.

The next 2 PSLE Maths Camps will be held on 10th and 17th Dec.

                  Dear Parents,

I've managed to get my friend who is a current school teacher with 10 years experience teaching Chinese to conduct an intensive course.
She's a local lady, bilingual and she's preparing all the materials for the course. She has been teaching higher Chinese classes for the past 5 years. I'm sure your kids will benefit from her class.

I'm also setting aside time to personally conduct the Math and Science courses. Focus will be on techniques and how to score.
Many students have the knowledge and know their concepts, but are not able to effectively apply them to score.

My tutor at the centre will be conducting the English course. She has 5 years experience tutoring in various brand-name tuition centres and will be using materials developed by me (and her own additional materials).

We received very good feedback from students who attended the courses last year and hope that your child will benefit this year.

Certain courses are suitable for P5 students.

Limited to 10 student per class. Register early to avoid disappointment!

                  Regards,
                  Mrs Wong

                      Hi Kitty2,

Just to share, if you break down the fees into 'per hour', it actually works out to be the same as regular tuition class fees. It seems expensive due to the 'intensive hours'.
Fees also depend on the teacher/tutor conducting the programme. For example, our PSLE intensive Chinese class is conducted by a current school teacher and her charges are higher than other tutors.

Whether or not intensive programmes are useful will also depend very much on application and follow up. For us, we provide notes so that students can revise at home and parents can follow up and revise with your child is he/she is not pro-active in revision. So far the feedback has been good as our classes are small and students get adequate attention to address their weak areas too.

                      Regards,
                      Mrs Wong
