My son will sit together n play w my friend kid. Whatever my fren kid play he will play cuz he Peer imitation .and fight for toys .
Just my fren kid k communicate w my fren whenever my fren instruct her kid to do. -

helplessmum3, 2 years back, I send both my DS to kid's yoga. Till today, they are still taking the classes from the same teacher. My elder boy has mild ASD. And today, I am very glad that he is almost like any ordinary child. Except on occasions where he is really upset, he will go all quiet. However, he can express himself well to what he is upset or happy about and answer our questions promptly. You can think about giving the yoga classes a try. -

Thanks![/quote]Hi there! Its Ohmsantih yoga. My elder DS went for 1-1 initially and the younger one joined the mass class with 4 other children. Well, yes initially I do need to make 2 trips each week as the the teacher is the same. But I would say its all worthwhile. Maybe you can discuss with the teacher for the 1-1 class, how you can fit the children in? My 2 boys loves teacher war war's class :please:Yuhua:

Hi, thanks for your reply. Hope the teacher can give me a suitable slot soon. I myself tried yoga recently. I must say it is very tiring when u do the poses, but u feel very \"shiok\" after tt due to the lengthening effect.

good luck to getting the right slot! I do yoga at the same school as well. Yes feels really good after a good stretch of back, especially shoulders and necks. Desk bound job gives so much problems on the shoulders these days

Like with all things, slowly and specifically! From about 9yo or so, I started talking a bit more about a girl's growth and development, let her read a book or 2, just getting her to understand the issues. When she started menstruating, I showed her what to do, how to manage, as matter-of-factly as I could. Pretty much like we have taught her many things over the years! It's been fine so far.

My daughter is in a fairly unique situation as we have lived overseas since she was very young and she currently attends a very small Christian international school. The teachers and students are generally very accommodating so she has had an easier time than in a bigger school. Her classmates probably realise that she is different, and she doesn't have any close friends (she doesn't seem to want that kind of friendship), but they get along OK. She had a harder time in the first 4 yrs in public school, but since she is quiet, I think most people just ignored her. She has a younger sister (2 yrs younger) who is much more socially aware, and I think the younger one helps to some extent by leading the way in social interactions.
yes, i recall temple grandin who is a renowned ASD individual saying that she does not have the need to have intimate relationships. it is a decision by choice, rather than borne out of any handicap.
I reckon that your dd's environment does not entail any bullying. its good to hear that cos that is one of my worries too, that they get bullied or exploited because of their innocence. -
