Learning Point - Discussion

My CA1 I got 61 for math. Improved to 88 by SA2 ^^
I don't know how much I paid for the second test. My mom paid for it. All I did was to go for the test -
Dear Parents,
Anyone with Primary School kid(s) at Learning Point? Can I have some feedback on their English and Science classes? How much is their fee? Thank you in advance. -
-
any parent have kids been through both Learning Point and TAS, for Lower Primary (P1to P3) ?
in terms of creative compo writing, who is stronger ?
both around similar costs per Term. -
LP doesn’t do compo writing every week. Does TAS do compo writing weekly? My child started with LP this year.
-
TAS does compo writing weekly. Only sometimes when it is nearer to exams and most kids have finished their compo exam, they would focus more on paper 2 but other than that, most weeks, they will touch on compo.

Is TAS better or LP?

Hard to compare, I have only been at TAS and not LP. Best to go for trial, look at the materials and compare. TAS’s strength I feel is their methods of teaching, their teachers go for regular trainings, the teacher my older one is under has been at tas for nearly 2 years and she told me that they still go for regular training to learn new ways to teach that the trainers come up with.
For compre techniques that they use, you can request to look at their answer keys, in the answer keys, they write down for most of the questions (p4 and above at least) the techniques to apply and why certain answers are wrong. I frequently ask for their answer keys so I can go through with my kids at home especially for compre their mistakes. If LP has free trial, why not go for both and compare. I believe every centre has their own strengths. -
Don’t think LP offer free trial. How much is the fees at LP? Am contemplating between LP and TAS now.

forgot to add one more thing, TAS will try their best to help the kids. After the recent TAS mid year test, some of my son’s classmates in his class did not do so well and the teacher said they still could not cope well and they were offered extra lessons for a month for half the price to help them catch up as they were rather weak and new. Although TAS has good students, they do not just help good students, they also try their best to help the weak ones. I am not from tas or have any share in it, just want to state why I am so impressed with them.
