      Hi,

I brought my P4 DS to RI open house today. Very impressed by the campus, culture and the \"gentlemen\" we met. Fantastic school. Awesome experience.:)

Hopefully, will motivate him to study hard and aim for this premier institution.:)

Does any parents practise bringing your P5 to open house so that they get a feel of what school they should aim for??? Does that sound very ks???

I brought my son to attend a sec open house in the west. The COP to get in is 245. PSLE is getting tougher year after year. So even though son likes environment, but so what…it’s like ‘wow the school environment is nice and wow, the CCAs are interesting’. What’s the point of all the ‘wow’? Why not work hard and get the results first? With the results, he can decide which school…no point being envious of those students in that school. They worked very hard in P6 too.

Maybe it works on some kids. They will worker harder if they like the school & want to get into that school. Hope your son is one of them. :xedfingers:

Hi! I'm a newbie here, after going through some of the topic randomly now than i realised that PSLE - Sec 1 process is so complicated.

I'm aiming Cedar Girls for my DD but Cedar only taking in DSA? Anyone got any idea what is the minimum aggregate to get into Cedar?

Her teacher hope that she can get in to RGS which i don't think she can make it after seeing her mid-year result, she failed her maths just by a 4 marks.. :scared:

I don't even dare to think of aggregate score she be getting. My maths also cannot make it so i don't really know how to calculate the score base on her mid-year result.. 🤷

Cedar takes in students via DSA as well as PSLE results. Last year's COP for O levels was 249 and for IP was 258.

You can calculate her T score by multiple the total percentage by 3. This will give you a rough idea of her score. The standard of her school has to be taken into consideration too. The standard of top schools tend to be slightly higher than the neighborhood schools.

Just to share, my friend 's daughter who scored 249 in her PSLE appealed n got in to Cedar. According to her mum, her girl has been struggling with her study. With tutition in English, literature , math n Chinese , her result still not satisfactory, struggle to pass.

The average score is 256 among the students. So need to score the range of 256 n above to be 'average in the school.

                        Hi Magiccastle,
Any idea hows teachers at Cedar at Sec 1?
Do they preteach Upper Sec Science syllabus to Sec 1 ?
                        H/wk wise manageable?
Yr frd's daughter scored a gd aggregate 249, yet struggling now, can seek teachers' help like remedial after sch, right?
                        Stress....
