      Hi all parents,

I am interested to bring my DD for her first visit to dentist. Any recommendation?

Anybody been to Smile Focus or GPA Dental? How's the review? Which should i choose or there's better options? What are the charges like and which dentist to look for?

Appreciate all your kind advices!!!!! 🙂

          Hi,

Anyone knows if kids can do scaling and polishing every 6 months (2x per year) like adults? Will it cause any harm to their teeth? eg. thin out the teeth or gums?

I go to dr tan, white dental group, at balmoral plaza basement.

As for scaling and polishing for kids, best check with dentist.

The school dentist in Seng Kang Pri School is very good. No doubt is FOC but she really put in effort to handle my dd’s teeth which almost all (yes all) are decayed. Very nice of her.

For secondary school student who might need to align his teeth, which route do I take, see school dentist first (what if no school dentist? do I bring him to polyclinic?) or go direct to outside private dentist?

No time to read thru 40 over pages of this thread. Trying to get feedback on electric toothbrush. Just ordered a Philips Sonicare Flexcare+ for Father’s day. Family has been using the low end type from Systema. It’s pretty decent for it’s price. I have receding gum problem due to overbrushing and the electric version has helped alot.

Is oral b rotation type better than the philips sonic type?

SDC is costly and long Q. Pay high price to be guinea pigs and they cancel appointment in short notice !!!!

                    Go straight to private one

A Line at Adelphi is reasonable and is popular with lots of sec school students but takes a while to get an initial time slot. After that the time slots could be managed for subsequent appointments

He is very pragmatic in a sense that he would recommend what is critical but not for the full package that will maximise your cost -- for example, for my kid he recommended to do braces only for the lower jaw, which means half the cost, but SDC does not care - just do full set and need to extract 4 teeth before the braces for both upper and lower jaws could be done

For A Line, they don't do extraction but will recommend the relevant dentist or dentist of your choice to do the extraction if needed. Please note some extractions qualify for medisave payment (eg wisdom tooth extraction) so that your cash payments are minimised
