register for KH under 2A first. Monitor for NCPS under 2C, then decide.

balloting for NCPS takes place - starting from less than 1 km.
in the event you stay 1 to 2km and still given the chance to ballot and you decide go ahead and try your luck, you have to de-register your KH (under 2A) seat first, before joining the balloting queue for NCPS (under 2C). Once you choose to give up your 2A KH seat, KH will give your seat to somebody else next in line, in the Waiting queue list.

for better or for worse - whatever balloting outcome at NCPS, you can never go back KH anymore. In the event you fail to ballot into NCPS under 2C, next you’ll be heading for 2C Supp school(s) next that still have vacancies - before the swarm of foreigners start pouring in, at phase 3.

          Hi Hi,

Finally back in action again 🙂
My DS1 will be in P1 in 2014.
PV at NHPS was rejected earlier.
My initial intention was to try our luck for P2C at NHPS since we are staying within 1km.
However, recently I hv heard good reviews on QTPS and decided to visit their website to gather more details of the school & team.
After reading the open letter posted on their website, I love their approach, their passion, I am totally impressed!
My boys are now studying at Pre-school By-the-park with a team of very dedicated teachers & team, lovely environment, everyone is like a part of the big family. QTPS gave me the same feeling too - Yes! Just by reading the monthly open letter!

Popular schools are stimes too commercial I feel.
Well, I will still have 1 year to decide if it's NHPS or QTPS?
          🙂

Try your luck at Nan Hua first, within 1 km.
              for phase 2C:-
              ratio is about 1:3.
ie. for every 3 kids balloting, only 1 luck child will get it.

if lady Luck keep smiling & grinning at you on that actual balloting day within 1 km - you'll strike. If is fated to be yours, it will be yours.

              2011 Nan Hua balloting:-
              http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=358&start=370

in Total, Nan Hua open 8 P1 classes (ie. intake of 240 pupils)
you may view 2010 & 2011 balloting statistics here:-
              http://www.nanhuapri.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x?c=/wbn/pagetree&func=view&rid=1084434

when you click on above link, the first picture you see is the landmark architecture design of the school - designed in the shape of a \"scholar's hat\". So the Chinese saying goes, \"Nan Hua produces scholars.\"

Queenstown still have lot of seats after 2C.

how is Chinese daily curriculum at your son's Pre school \"By-the-park\" ?
if you target Nan Hua -
ensure that you build strong foundation in your son's Chinese, with remaining 1.5 years left to Jan 2014. This school has got thick, rich heritage roots in Chinese culture, customs, history & traditions. Usually when boys from Nan Hua go Hwa Chong Sec next time (assuming they can meet Hwa Chong entry COP in PSLE), they have no issue settling down into Hwa Chong Sec school culture. They adapt easily - like fish swimming in water.

Hi Mummy of 3 / phtthp,

I agree too but DS1 is very very active, that's y we feel he might not be suitable for NH.
But it will be very wasted if we dun try 🙂

                  Hi phtthp,

DS1 is enjoying his Chinese lesson in school esp since this year 🙂
He is in love with his Chinese teacher I think. Ha!
He can write his name - 裔腾 - ha! A lot of strokes right?
He is remembering more words than I hv expected a K1 should know in my days 🙂

Any idea where to get a list of P1 Chinese words a kid should know before entering P1?
