Is it possible to go direct to Undergrad program from Olevel
-
Dadofgirl, I encourage that:-) A level is not necessary. It is not a criteria for US university requirement. The is not much correlation between quality of education and time spent. For example, extremely bright kids in Singapore is allowed to skip one level in primary school. Make your own decision

Thank you for inslight Plc & voilin_lover. We will have to take one step at a time...though. Studying A level here will invlove getting thro' Maths, Physics & Chem which are subjects just managable now & it will require more focus & effort which i guess is not worth if you are not Science student. -

Ex-colleague's daughter is currently studying a full time degree programme in SIM and she is admitted using her \"O\" level results. The degree programme is awarded by University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.
You can check this link for more info on the programmes offered, or you can call SIM direct.

The kid does not have problem with the pace of the programme so far, but her only \"complain\" is she is one of the youngest in the class. However, she is mature in her thinking, hence she has no problem communicating with her classmates who are mostly older than her. -

Thank you for info.It is good to know there are options coming thro' if you don't want to go thro' rigors of A-level. This will be a good option, but i guess it would be more general Business adminsitration degree/Accountacy Degree. Will find out. Thank you again.DadOfGirl:

Thank you. That's very useful info. would NUS -Duke college of liberal art follow suit allowing students directly from O levels? Only time will tell! -

If your dd's forte is in humanities and languages, she can choose to do a humanities programme in JC. No need for her to take Physics/Chem/Bio. Her contrasting subject can be Econs. -
jtoh:
I think for humanities programme in JC, the contrast subject is Knowledge & Inquiry (KI) or from the Maths /Science group (not sure can don't do Maths in JC). Economics is a Arts Subject.DadOfGirl:

You can check out VJC website on their humanities programme >>

All humanities students must take 4h2 with english lit as a compulsory subject others include hist/geog, maths, econs, KI(can be used as a contrasting subject as well as exempted from H1 GP). Applicants must qualify for admission to jcs with humanities programme ie RI, HCI,VJC,NJC and ACJC.
If a student opts not to take H2 maths, make sure that he/she has O-level a-maths pass to qualify for psychology and business schs. Of course i am referring to our unis.
The other alternative for DadofGirl to explore is to finish her IB/A-levels, go to NUS(arts and social science major in psychology), NTU psychology or SMU(social science major in psychology) and proceed to do her master in psychology in UMichigan(USA), Stanford(USA) or UCL(London) as opposed to bridging programme in a community college and then to her desired uni in USA.
Must work out the total cost as one needs to read up to at least a master level inorder to do clinical research(psychology).
