      Dear happyheart,

      Thanks for sharing.

In your opinion, What about adding a few good phrases or idiom into the compo, does it help to raise up the marks?

      Dear PSLE2011mum,

Thanks for sharing . My above question refers. Does adding in good phrases or idioms help?

In my view, adding these do not in itself. I didn't teach my Dds to \"pepper\" the compo with some phrases and idioms; I taught them to describe what happened instead of just telling me what happened in the end.

You may want to just use the search function and search my nick for my earlier posts where I shared what helped my DDs in their PSLEs. Hope it helps.

This extra holiday classes were made compulsory for students but I why is it not the other way round for teachers? DS teacher was/will be absent (for 3 days) & the substitute teacher ask them to ‘do anything u like’. Haiz.

His other subject teachers were ok though, letting them do / go thru practice papers with them.

Gosh ! That's a waste of time, isn't it ? May as well stay at home and revise the concepts or do practice paper !

Yah lor. My P5 DD oso, told to go back for holiday classes but teacher brought them to comp lab to play games. Of course she happily announce to me that xx teacher so gd... & btw, the games are anything the kid chooses, nothing educational abt it.
It really depends on the teacher. Some of her other subj teachers do give them serious stuff to do.
