All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

you are right! MGS doesn't need PV.
for phase 2B -
MGS only strictly accept Methodist church members.
Not any other Protestant denomination: Baptists, Presbyterians, Anglicans, Lutheran, Brethren, Pentecostal, Free Evangelica, Charismatic, Jewish churches, Reformed churches, etc. or admit those who came in via GRL, staying < 1 km.
from 2010 to 2012 P1 intake -
balloting for MGS start less than 1 km.

the school my friend had applied for PV wasn't MGS ...
at the other side of Bukit Timah road. She was upset because she stayed < 1km from that school, yet not selected for PV. -

Scary:
Is he flexible in timing when it comes to volunteering his medical skills? Is he willing to continue his service after clocking the required no. of hours? Again, who will be the one contributing most of the required no. of hours? Your friend or her husband? The P after talking to so many parents over so many years, will know whether to select your friend even if he can provide the services that the school may require.
it doesn't mean that once you are well qualified, your chance for PV is high.phtthp:
Hi ,
writting this msg with total disappointment , that my parent volunteering application for 2007 born with Raffles girls primary school has been rejected.
We both me and my husband are well qualified, i cant understand on which damn basis do they even select the application for PV.
my friend is a primary school teacher, teaching English for many years in a Convent girls school.
She also applied PV for a hot, branded school - at the other side of Bukit Timah road. Her daughter was born 2007, due for P1 2014.
Her PV application was rejected. She wrote in to appeal 2nd time - still got rejected. Her husband, a doctor (also well qualified) then helped her appeal & spoke to the Principal. Also not successful. Somehow, this school doesn't need his medical skills. My friend was very upset, disappointed.
different school(s) have different need. -
Hi,

fyi (for phase 2C)
i) for NYPS - balloting start, within less than 1 km.
2007 to 2011 - once outside 1 km, not eligible (no chance to ballot).

ii) for RGPS - balloting start, also within less than 1 km.
2010, 2011 - once outside 1 km, also not eligible (no chance to ballot).

how abt those who donated ‘maintenance of swimming pool, maintenance for tennis court?’ these people they qualified for phase 2B?
-
So what are the more sought after services? I thought being able to teach was a good skill they wanted. But it doesn’t seem so from your posts above…
Are SAHMs preferred over working parents? -
We do not mind to contribute whatever skill they need, but we need to know what they need. Will they list something for bidding? That might be a more fair solution.

Hello
Have a couple of questions :-
1) If we do get selected to do PV in (School A), do we fall under phase 2B? But what are the chances of getting a place if staying more than 2km away?
2) If we are unsuccessful in phase 2B of (School A), are we still in time and able to try for (School B) at Phase 2C and (staying within 1km but may still need balloting)?
Thank you so much! -
