mummy of 2:
Goodness, what a traumatic experience for you! I paid only $9 for consultation at the School Dental Centre. I wish I could go there for my own dental check-up too.
Not traumatic at all . . .
. . . just felt like a fool
, especially knowing your $9 :faint: . . . hahaha

For me, my kid's first dental check at 4yrs old was at GPA Dental at United Square- cost $188 for polish+1 filling.
Second dental check at Jurong Polyclinic- cost $17.50 for consult +1 filling.
Felt that not worth spending at GPA, polyclinic dental equally good.

I don't think we are comparing like with like. I'm sure the environment at the pte dentist is much nicer and they have more gadgets to distract the kids and make them feel comfortable?mummy of 2:

just brought my DS (3 yo) to NDC with SDC referral as the little one refuse to even let the dentist to complete a simple polising. He has nurmerous cravities & decaying which need to fixed all (1 extraction, 3 crowning & 4 fillings) at one shot under GA.
Do anyone parent here let your kid do the root canel treatment? Issit common to do such treatment at such young age.... heartpain to see him gg through all these... GA... with tube inserting via nose for breathing

that's a whole lot of dental 'repair'...considering they will lose these milk teeth in a few yrs' time!!

-
yes. usually these milk teeths will drop off ard 7yo… but we got to get these fixed before it leads to gum infections.
I am considering to get a 2nd opinion on his dental repair especially on the 3 nerves treatments with crowning even thou knowning he will still need to undergo GA for the treatment.
anyong can help to advise. -
Anyone tried The Kids’ Dentist at Camden? From the website, looks good but you know la… looks can be deceiving. I need to bring my 3 and 4 yr old girls for first time checkup. Don’t want to frighten them on first visit so thought of looking for a friendly place.
-
Not sure about Camden place, but SDC is good - the staff there are very friendly and patient. Only waiting time very long (about 2 months?).

Thought of bringing them soon... after reading about all the cavities and fillings that the moms have mentioned here, I scared ah...
Thanks for your recommendation. Will also check them out. -
I just called SDC to make appointment. Now earliest they can give is 11 Jan…figure i have to bring to private dental for my kid’s fillings…dunno how can wait.
For normal cleaning, I think they’re ok; but if there is any emergency work, still got to go private.
oh! SDC sell ‘Happy brush’ - it’s 3 sided brush and very easy to use. only $2.50. I like it!
