Intially trying to refrain from posting here, since this is sensitive topic. Too much firing in this thread. Just want to share with you a passage in the bible, to cool you guys down. I have decided not to add on to all speculation or condemnation.

      +++++
      John 8
1Jesus went unto the Mount of Olives.

2And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came unto Him; and He sat down and taught them.

3And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto Him a woman taken in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst,

4they said unto Him, \"Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

5Now Moses in the law commanded us that such should be stoned but what sayest thou?\"

6This they said testing Him, that they might have cause to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though He heard them not.

7So when they continued asking Him, He lifted Himself up and said unto them, \"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.\"

8And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9And they who heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the eldest even unto the last, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing in the midst.

10When Jesus had lifted Himself up and saw none but the woman, He said unto her, \"Woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee?\"

11She said, \"No man, Lord.\" And Jesus said unto her, \"Neither do I condemn thee; go, and sin no more.\"

Catholic is very clear since they worship Mary which the Christians don't.

Catholics do not worship Mary! Saying that is blasphemy!
The word prayer means \"a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or a heavenly creature\"
Catholics worship God as the one Supreme Being.
Mary is not God. Hence Catholics do not worship Mary!
Jesus Christ is God and specifically, is one of the three Persons in one God. Catholics do communicate with Mary and Canonised Saints. When we say pray to Mary and the Saints it is communicating with them or talking to them.
          Get it?

Yes, this is extremely gross misconceptions that regrettably still exist even among Protestants today. I already explained this few pages back. Actually I think it is a good idea to suggest to MCYS to make it compulsory for all religious institutions to run religious tolerance courses as requirement for membership.

This is from a child's perception of the case.

We were watching this news on the car on the way to school and I spoke to my kids about it.

I was telling them what happened... the pastor used the church money to fund the wife's career, stay in sentoso cove, huge house in US, etc.....

dh was like.... trying to correct me and tell them the politically correct version saying... they are not guilty until proven, etc.... I was like... yah but I wanted to present another view from a more emotional aspect since I am just so human.

Your dh is correct that you should also say they are not guilty until proven. Then you can say to your kids you can use this incident to highlight to them to be careful of how you present your actions and lifestyle to others; they can be easily misinterpreted and miscontrued even if the intention is good.

You have to ask your children what they see and hear from the news and regurgitate to the father, that would be the most accurate of a child's perception.

I am unabashed ex CHC member who stands with Pastor Kong Hee. So if you are really upset with them, don't read what I have to post. I see that many parents here are reasonable and have a right to be worried and upset. I understand but I guess every story has two sides to it.

I am not here to change anyone's thinking but just want to share some youtube videos on how Crossover project has impacted lives and how secular Christian artists can impact the world through what they do.

I do not see how being a secular Christian artiste gyrating wildly and suggestively can do anything to bring the Gospel to the non-Christians. Is she saying \"Don't worry, Christians can have fun and freedom just like anyone else, just look at me!\"

Alot of other secular artistes can also achieve fame by their true talent, be it singing or dancing w/o resorting to such attention grabbing antics. Look at Susan Boyle, the world noe knows her.
In conclusion, it shows she does not have the talent , and she thinks so too, that's why this is the only way for her.

Sorry if I offend any fan of hers, but that's my opinion.

I would like to say that whatever ruling party we have, we should have the right of free press. When the press is controlled in such a way, we as Singaporeans do not really think about an issue from different angles. We just swallow all that we read as the truth without thinking that every article written is not written merely about the facts but it is written to push a certain agenda or written in a certain slant. The Mohd facebook article is also written with a certain agenda. However, it provides differing points of view. In most countries, people would buy several newspapers to get differing viewpoints but here we only have one from the ST and that is our govt's view on things.

Not to say I am anti govt but I find they are too controlling on how we think.
I concur with u on d right to free press n I wld add, free speech.
Dat's a democratic ideal ppl can strive for, but d harsh reality is any power-dat-be will use whatever tools, including d press, at their disposal to push their agenda.
Knowing dis, u just hv to avail urself to other sources of information just like wat u r doing now with some of d links u r posting to get more varied viewpoints n a wider perspective. :celebrate:

In this case, I am not for or against Pastor Kong, but I do feel the anger that rises up against him is a little uncalled for especially when the people who are so angry are ones that are not even in his church and have not given to the project. They have not solicited funds from the public. Yet the people who are most upset are people who do not know them and have not given.

I think this article expresses how I feel:

                        Thx for sharing dis link.
Taken together with wat Cheryl Tay commented, it offers a more balanced view.
Dat's wat reasonable ppl wld do - a measured response to d circus surrounding d saga.
                        旁观者清.
d view dat it is their donations n d members can do whatever they want with it is right only if d money is managed n use in d right way within d Charity Act guidelines n rules of governance - dat is not on trial in dis case.
Dis case is abt CBT n falsification of accounts. Be clear abt dis.
