My first time watching CHC's online broadcast church service today and I saw this lady mentioning in her testimonial about Sun Ho's China Wine MTV and how Sun has changed the lady's life and how grateful she is to Sun.

Here's the MTV. Just wondering how this MTV applies to the religion. :? Oops! Please don't flame me hor. I'm just curious, as a non-Christian. :siam:

        Hi Dreamaurora, tutormum,

I agree with you that as fellow Christians, we should not judge another Christian. No one has the right or sinless enough to judge them except God Himself. But to be fair, we also can’t blame those who criticise KH, SH or CHC becos their behavior really put themselves subject to criticism and judgment.

For eg, the church members who turned up in full force to support their pastor. Yes, they are not wrong to show utmost support for their beloved pastor, but why got into shouting match and physical tussle (as reported in papers) with the photojournalists and shouted at them "why don’t you get another job?!" My gosh, they are just doing their job, why be so hard on them?

And now even the whole church publicly ‘challenged’ the authorities with their latest press release…they did not know that they are actually making themselves in a more negative light by their behavior. And even for some of us who may be neutral about them initially are also getting very uncomfortable by their actions and behavior.

Just sharing how I feel, hope won’t offend anyone.

          i) any idea which is the largest group in SG, by religion ?

is it Taoism, Buddhism, Catholic, Christianity, free thinker, others ?

          ii)

          tutormum:
Latest is 25000. NC is about 30000
          means as of today ...
New Creation church occupy #1 position, City Harvest #2.
          CH is behind NC.

          which is # 3 church ?

iii) do most / all of the Charismatic \"speak in tongue\" churches normally classified as \"Independent\" church ?

if any pastor from Independent churches get into trouble with the law, then who manage / deal with them ? i mean ... who is higher in authority above them ?

This simply adds to the negative perception of them. Cannot blame others for being critical.

              Dreamaurora:
Seventh Day Adventists is also generally regarded as non Protestant in Singapore and not registered under NCCS as well. But this one is more debatable, they still use the same Bible just that they have very strict customs, e.g. cannot eat pork.

I will refrain from calling these churches 'cults' although they are regarded by some Christians as such. I think we all can practice tolerance towards those with different beliefs than us.
Who say cannot eat pork? It's just advised not to bc Pork is considered 2nd/3rd-class meat. eg. Fish or Beef is considered 1st-class meat since what is first in the food-chain is a vegetable. In fact, to be even healthier, humans should not be eating meat - if we are really to go into how our teeth/digestive system are designed. And these are advised by the church Bc SDAs believe that their bodies are \"Temples of God\" . So should live as healthy a lifestyle as possible, and that includes not only healthy diet but also exercise, temperance etc. These are all Basic Commonsence and what everyone else should follow - don't even need to be SDA to want to lead a healthy lifestyle in that way. Not all who live this way are SDAs even!!!

So, as SDAs, there really is never a \"CANNOT eat this and that\", or \"cannot do this or that\". Some have construed it wrongly and take it as a list of \"Dos & Don'ts\" which is an incorrect view. That, is taken way out of proportion.

Thanks for clarification on SDA, phankao.

so there’s no such thing as cannot eat pork, cannot eat chicken, cannot eat beef, etc.
                In short, still can eat.

May I ask, what about SDA members serving NS, carrying arms, saying the national pledge. Any issue with those? Also, is the Bible used the same as other Protestant churches.

Hope you don't mind me asking. Just curious.

Somehow I wondered why din't they just organise a group photo shoot just outside the courts n do away with all the tussle. After all, their faces are easily found all over the internet
