      Hi,

I have tried reading all the postings here but still struggling to know what is good. Noticed that most of the comments seem to be for kindergarten or lower primary level. Unfortunately, I am looking for a centre that can help my P4 boy with his Chinese. What I hear is that some centres could be good for lower primary but not upper primary. Does anyone have any experiences to share?

      TIA!

If you are going for upper Primary or Secondary, Jiang Education and Molin are highly recommended. There are parents who also believe that Berries and Tien Hsia supports upper primary well too.

Parents with kids who will be taking Berries P1 Chinese or considering the programme next year, please take note that Berries will be offering 2 types of P1 Chinese courses - the Normal Chinese and Higher Chinese.

For the Higher Chinese program, the content will be of a higher level than the current Berries P1 program, whereas the Normal Chinese will be similar to the current Higher Chinese syllabus.

So, do enquire about the differences when you are registering your kids for P1 Chinese at Berries.

              Hi,

Does that apply to all centres or just certain branches ? Where and when do you get this update ? Is it just for the P1 ? How about the other levels ? :?

              Please advise ....

              Thanks !

                tcdl,
my boy will still be taking higher chinese at berries for P2 next year for the branch that he is attending (from the brochures that they gave us)..
not sure about their P1 intake.
you just need to call up the branch that you are interested in. i'm sure the admin will be very happy to assist you. πŸ™‚

Hi Chamonix, of so many Berries, Padan Valley, West Coast etc which one do you reccomend for P4 to P6 both CL and HCL. How much do they charge?

                      HI tcdl,

One of the managing staff at Bt Batok Berries told me about this. I suppose the same applies across the board.

According to her, the Higher Chinese program is designed for kids taking Higher Chinese in school. For those who have been with them in K2 but taking Normal Chinese in school, the teachers will advise the parents if the kid is suitable for the Higher Chinese program. Not so sure if the centre will accept new students doing Normal Chinese in school for the Higher Chinese program.

Heard the new materials for both Normal and Higher Chinese are ready, you might wanna check with Berries if they are available for viewing.

As for other levels, sorry, I don’t have any info on them. Hope it helps.

                        Hi MdmKS,

Sorry I'm unable to help you on this. No experience yet.

But if you are thinking of enrolling your kids in Berries, it's best to ask around for the most recommended teacher in that centre/level. Usually, it's the teacher that makes a big difference. πŸ˜„
