I've been hearing so much about the Crossover Project.

Perhaps the most effective one is still in the offing, when Kong Hee crosses over from the pulpit to prison. Away from the trappings of grandeur, he'll have the all the time to reflect on what he has done.

The Bible says \"...godliness with contentment is great gain. (1 Timothy 6:6)

Godliness with CONFINEMENT is also great gain. πŸ˜‚

Charles Colson was Special Counsel to President Nixon. Sentenced to prison for his role in the Watergate Scandal, he later founded Prison Fellowship in 1976. Today Prison Fellowship, a Christian faith-based setup, is the largest outreach to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families in the USA.

The best is yet to come once the worst is over.

:rotflmao: Thanks for the laugh! So what's for dinner - I mean, what there to be learnt from the joke, and what have you modified?
I just change some of d characters, location n setting n some wording too fit into d context here.
          d gist remains.

          d lesson?
          It strikes me how d same words, same gestures cld be interpreted in so many different ways;
many a times ppl get so weighed down with words, quotes fr d Bible dat they risk missing d mark. πŸ˜‰

Yes, it is a tragedy when the words and quotes from the Bible are misquoted and twisted by preachers to suppress people's common sense and conscience.

I finally got around to hear that podcast from fightingforfaith website. I really...did not know what to say. Kong Hee had always been pro-prosperity ever since CHC was in Hollywood Theatre and although I did not agree with him, he was not that extreme, but that sermon at C3 church was...blasphemy. I could not find nicer words to describe it.

there's a Chinese saying: ji zhu chang le meaning be contented and you will be happy always. :rahrah:

                Agreed, can also say 快乐如倩堂.

So, why wait till after death? It's beyond our control.

I prefer to be more concerned with the present.

Lets not take this conversation to discussing religion. Each religion has its own ways and it all has the same motive - to make u a better person....

                  :goodpost:

The goal of Christianity is entirely different.

Believing in Christ is not about making a person better, although it includes that. Otherwise Jesus can easily teach us to be good without the absolute necessity of dying on the cross.

It's first and foremost about making a dead person alive.

Dead in God's eyes \"for the wages of sin is death, but the (free!) gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

When you were dead in your sins..., God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, (Colossians 2:13-14)

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions β€”it is by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:4-5)

                    Thx for sharing.
I like d aphorism: The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
                    To which may I add:
d road to heaven r fraught with obstacles n is a constant struggle. πŸ†’

KH will defend himself in court first. Many City Harvest supporters rally behind him, hire the best lawyer in town to defend him. Or perhaps in their existing CHS congregation, already got many lawyers.
