All About Pre-school Graduation Concerts
-
Heyya penglee, where’s the venue of your child’s graduation ceremony?
-
Ours just over… We spent:
- $105 for 3 adult tics
- $40 for one photo of DS receiving cert and one DVD of the event
- $52 for a cowboy hat and vest
- we bought a long sleeve checked shirt and belt that DS used for his concert, but these may be reused for normal occasions.
So for us, the cost came up to $197. -

wow, thot mine is expensive as i paid $176. But she's performing 4 items + delivering graduation speech + christmas present + DVD + graduation photo package, free admission to view concert, so still worth, right? anyway, is only once a lifetime, so still got to pay though heartache! :moneyflies:
My own K2- i only got one photo showing square hat, and it is already a big deal back than (80s). At most, $10, got something to eat, shake prncipal hand, then bye bye ..short and sweet

Beginning of concert was ok... But after a while it got kinda draggy... The owner of the school gave a loooong speech and then there were performances from nursery, K1 and K2 classes, each of them performing about 3 items ... The whole concert plus certificate presentation took over 3 hrs :faint:

That is really expensive !
For my girl, we paid $0 for her PCF K2 concert.
She used her dance costume($35) from last year, and admission is free. We took our own videos
-
Personally feel it should be optional. If only can still still use baby bonus…heheheheh.

I also feel that the cost of the K2 concert is ridiculous. I had to pay $70 for his costume which can only be worn once, pay $25 per tickets for each person. I refused to buy the video....just got some stills.
The kindergarten got all the centres together and made it into 1 long concert lasting over 2 hours. Don't understand why they can't just have it for their own centre in the school hall and save all the fuss and hassle. We even had to go separately for a full dress rehearsal...
Frankly, I think all of us are only keen to watch our own kids perform. Why make us sit through 20 items of kids performing? Most of whom we have never seen before because they are from other centres.
I wish I could group some parents together to protest about it then.
Thought about not letting son join in but he will feel very left out because they spent a bit part of the 2nd half of the year practising it in class.
