My LV boy will be graduating soon.

      - $100 costume (worn only once for graduation)
      - $30 ticket per parent, total $60 (no complimentary ticket)
      - $30 full ticket for child above 3 years old
      - $25 Dvd
      - $215 for full package

Do K2 children really need to spend so much for graduation?
Granted, it is a milestone for our children, and we should celebrate, but modestly.

We highlighted to management that money which we can saved, can buy kiddos more nutrition and enrichment products !!

For parents whose child will be participating in K2 concerts soon, better check the market $rate
      :whut:

Care to share which Kindergarten? For my kid kindergarten, it seem every year they do have concert! Maybe I should do my sums & see how much concert I had incur. :!:

my kid in toddler class (not even N1) was involved in a skit for the K2 Graduation Ceremony.

        Costumes - $60
        Ticket - $20 each (we bought 4)
Photos / DVD - optional (dared not ask price now)

Franky, on the DVD part, I do agreed that practically I’m only interested in that less than 5mins skit by my boy; so i am considering whether to buy the DVD or not … We took time off recently to accompany son to (one of) the rehearsal.

Personally feel it should be optional. If only can still still use baby bonus...heheheheh.

If kid participating, costume cannot optional..
Parents' support also can be optional, as kid will be disappointed

DVD we share with other parents 😛

            That is really expensive !

For my girl, we paid $0 for her PCF K2 concert. 😉 She used her dance costume($35) from last year, and admission is free. We took our own videos 😉
I envy u, because 10 years down the road, when we rewind kids' K2 performance, who will remember how much u pay?

It is the performance, and \"fun\" factor which will be priceless.
Whether u pay $200 or $20, I say go for economical package...

Man, SG just walk out of recession..

I also feel that the cost of the K2 concert is ridiculous. I had to pay $70 for his costume which can only be worn once, pay $25 per tickets for each person. I refused to buy the video....just got some stills.

The kindergarten got all the centres together and made it into 1 long concert lasting over 2 hours. Don't understand why they can't just have it for their own centre in the school hall and save all the fuss and hassle. We even had to go separately for a full dress rehearsal...

Frankly, I think all of us are only keen to watch our own kids perform. Why make us sit through 20 items of kids performing? Most of whom we have never seen before because they are from other centres.

I wish I could group some parents together to protest about it then. 😛

Thought about not letting son join in but he will feel very left out because they spent a bit part of the 2nd half of the year practising it in class.
Same scenario here, all SG branches come together.
If you are unlucky, will seat back row, and unless camera got x12 or x20 zoom, sure cannot capture any diy video.

Likely capture other parents' head infront haha

:!: I have heard of parents spending coming to $500 for the gown, shoes and bag for prom nights of Sec 4. Didn’t know nowadays K2 graduation concerts are so expensive. Last time, my dd’s time (7 years ago), they performed in their classroom, the principal’s husband use a small video camera recorded down the whole performance and a small graduation ceremony, burned into VCD for all parents - with a very small nominam fee, cannot rem how much in exact.

as for prom nite, still not that bad, the son/daugther is at least 16 yrs old, so they would appreciate or aware of the amt of money we parents spend on them. but for a 6 yrs old kid, i think the spending is really too extravagant. wonder at that time, how many of my child's schoolmates realised that their parents had to pay so much just for their concert.

below was the posting which i had posted earlier in another similar thread of discussion regarding K2 graduation concert.

                      Augmum:
Talking about K2 Graduation Concert, I remembered I paid closed to $500 for my Daughter Concert which was 6 yrs ago ( now she is in P6).
It was indeed ex, I remembered that I was so reluntant when I was writing out the cheque. :!:

Although the Graduation Concert was indeed impressive having been held at the Victoria Concert Threatre and the whole 2 hrs show was rather professional, I still think it was a waste to spend so much money, or too extravagant, just for a kid's concert. What to do.........if you wanna to watch your kid on stage and everyone was paying for it.

The payment included 1 st 2 tickets (for parents) at $100, subsequent 2 tickets (for grandparents) at $80, Graduation Professional Photo- taking (around $120), Concert Photo-taking, 1 CD and 1 VCD, 2 costumes at $40 each ( for a Eng and Chinese Musical Drama). Did I leave out anything else, I think that's all. Oh ya.......the school gave a small graduation gold ring to my daughter.

Augmum, so my dd is 1 year older than your dd. That time, $500, I think is toooooo expensive. Didn’t know at that time, already got such expensive gradutation concert. What kindergarden was that ?

My dd’s one, no longer there, its just an unknow, small, occupying HDB shophouse type of kindergarten.
