Doc should not charge too much for just clearance

Imami:
My child's pd did it for free. Fee aside, I thought shd. Bring back to the same doc to get clearance?
I personally think it's better to go back to the same doc who declared to MOE? We did that at Raffles medical and I think the review rate was much lower.Quizzer:
My son contracted HFMD 2 weeks ago and now he has recovered. Do we have to bring him to the same doctor who diagnosed him? Can we bring him to cheaper alternative like polyclinic or normal clinic?
I thought if you bring your child back to the same clinic, the doc will just charge you the review rate not the full consultation rate? -

Hi,
This is the first time I write in this forum.
Would like to check the following for a friend.
Hope someone can help…
My friend got HFMD, does her child need to be kept at home? Not allow to go to school (preschooler)? Is there such official requirement from MOE/MOH?
I do know cases where elder child got HFMD, younger child still go to preschool.
TIA -
Technically speaking, your friend is the one with HFMD, not the kid. So the preschool will not reject the kid, but may advise your friend to be more considerate and keep the kid at home since it is very likely she’ll pass the virus to the kid unless she doesn’t see the kid at all (self-quarantine).
Any affected kid needs to be kept home, away from school and definitely away from playgrounds, shopping centres etc.
It is the preschool’s requirement coz the MCYS will stop their business once it hits an epidemic level. So the school needs to stop the spread of the virus.
If the elder child has HFMD, the younger child can still go to school IF she shows no symptoms - fever, ulcers, blisters. But most considerate parents will keep both kids at home coz the younger kid will 99% get it unless they separate the kids totally. -
Hi cherrygal,
Thank you for your advise...
Sorry I think I did not make it clear enough in my first post...
What if my friend exactly got it from her child?
Meaning, her child got HFMD first, then quarantine at home for about 10-14 days, now the mummy got from the child, do the child need to be kept away from school again for 10 days?
TIA -
Oh, this way round. Then once the kid has the clearance letter from the doc, she can go to school. She will not get the HFMD again from her mom coz it’s the same strain.
She will only get immunity to the same HFMD strain.
But tell the mom not to go out, or even fetch her from the school. The mom must stay away from other kids. -
Hi cherrygal,
Got it...
Thank you for your advise and reply...
This will be a relief for the mummy
The mummy is quarantining herself, don't even dare to hug the child... so poor thing... but to be safe than sorry...
The daddy will do the fetching...
Thanks again....
