donโt think MOE allow that.
if it ever happen, MOE will intervene & do something to this unique situation. I believer MOE also closely monitoring situation now, since they just implement policy.
i feel that the school should try to open up another class. -

Yup agreed. It's about demand and supply, if supply are taken up, then register at other schools. There are enough schools in Singapore to cater to SC, PR and Foreign talent kids.

I looked at the moe website for the vacancies left for rgps and there are still 89. It looks like a comfortable figure to me and you are at 2A2.Hi,
I have registered my daughter into Pei Chun Public and I am staying at Toa Payoh. I am an old gal of RGPS and can register her into RGPS under Phase 2A(2).
Can anyone advise if I stand a chance in RGPS? I am in a dilemma as I need to withdraw from Pei Chun in rorder to register for RGPS.
I don't understand why this year I feel from this thread that P2A2 is so tense. This level of tension is usually at P2B.
If you are apprehensive, can call the school in the afternoon to chk the figure mid-way registration for today. -
Kelsy:
Why don't you join the alumni? You are still in time to join to qualify for P2A1. P2A1 is Almost guaranteed. This year P2A1 30 applicants, P2A2 as of now is 70.weyw:

Which phase are you registering at?
i will be applying in 2014... under phase 2A2 for RSS... so crossing my fingers and toes that ballot at phase 2A2 will not happen when time to come.... as recently alot of private condos are built around the sch....
:yikes:
You also need to take into consideration that RSS may cut intake to go in line with MOE's direction to go single session in 2016.
If you are really keen to join the alumni, pm me, I'll give you the contact.
Hi Kelsy,
i have pm u on the contact. :thankyou:

Agree. As it is, the schools are reducing intake to gear up for single session....

I also find this yr very unique indeed. Past yrs hype was usually at P2B, most discussions happened AFTER P2A2. Isn't our birthrate going downhill??

I think if its just exceed by 1, they will go without balloting.
Sharing my experience here. Last year when I registered my dd I persuaded the sch to take in just one more student, the sch rejected strongly saying that all registration have to go to MOE and MOE does not allow such thing to happen cos all classes are capped at 30. Even it is just out by one, they will still have to go for ballot and whoever being balloted out will have to register in another sch. This is a cruel reality.
Hmm.. My understadning is that we go by distance. If a;; 121 kids for that 119 places are n teh same distance category and also all are SC, then even if exceed by 1 application, all must ballot. Anyone else have a different understanding, please help enlighten.lilfeets:
The school of my choice has 119 vacancies for 2(A)2, I called today and 60 have registered. I have this feeling it will go to ballot. If that happens I will withdraw since I live more than 10 km from the school. Can anyone advise if this is a good idea? I understand that if lets say 120 or 121 kids apply for 119 places, management may take in all to save on balloting procedure ... can anybody confirm?
Thanks much -
They have to go for ballot even if exceed by one. If not, how about those exceed by two? Three? Where will be the cap? Those who have to ballot when exceed by five or ten may cry foul and question the data updated on the moe website cos why canโt school absorb extra one student per class? Etc.

I am puzzled as well.... I tot 2006 birth rate was not that high!
