Many parents woke up one morning and realised that they are actually an old boy or old girl of some schools. :heresmyfish:

I must say it is more competitive this year. A number of schools are having less than 20 vacancies for phases 2b and 2c now. It won't be long for us to see balloting at phase 2a2.
My 2nd one is in P2 but I am looking at vacancies available out of curiousity. Thought Phase 2A2 is still safe :scratchhead: and the stress comes in at 2B/C. -

Janet, today is day 2 of phase 2a2 and Rulang has 25 vacancies left! I really know how this is like as I PVed at Rulang but failed to get in last year. This year is worse than last year.

I believe this is due to the results of schools going into single session and hence, the number of classes have to be reduced. Being said that, govt has also opened up a few new schools this year to cater for the outstanding numbers. -
I was angry why din my parents send me to popular sch when I was young since there wasn’t much competition 30 to 40 years ago. If not, my children will be admitted straight away through phase 2A, my grandchildren will have no worries to go in and also my great grand children and great great grand…there will be no stress for the next generation.

Many parent may scramble to join the alumni too. -
Don’t flame me but i think we are our worse enemy by creating the stress and the hype. I am guilty of worrying but i also am prepared for the fact that I may or may not get into the first choice of school. No hard feelings.
Let’s view the numbers objectively and hang in there. Make back-up plans. Good Luck! -

Totally know how you feel. I saw only 30 seats left after 1st day of Phase 2A2.... biting nails now... cos still got 1 day to go.... if more than 30 applicants, 2A2 will require to ballot.... (cross finger! cross fingers!!!!)Has anyone got any idea if any schools have ever held balloting for Phase 2A2? I just registered today and learnt that there're only 25 vacancies left. I'm afraid if there are more than 25 applicants tomorrow, there'll be balloting held, and my chance will be extremely slim since i stay beyond 2km.
The school adminstrator told me it has never held balloting in the entire history of the school for this phase, but i'm still nervous! -

You can't say that. When my mum registered me at rss, the enrolment was dropping for the school. In an attempt to boost enrolment, they even had K2 classes. They also shifted out from kampong area to the existing school site. Last time, most parents will go for convenience and not the reputation. -

Looking at things now, don't think our grandchildren will get to enjoy Phase 2A.
