Jedamum, u mentioned that yr Neighbour is in phase 2b but can't get it happened this year or previous cos phase 2b is actually next Thursday.

Last year. She didn't manage to get into pei hwa in phase 2b as we were more than 2km away. Luckily she managed to get into the catholic school within 1km via ballot in phase 2c.

Is it necessary to go for enrichment class before the child starts primary one? Which school would you recommend around Sengkang area for both English and Chinese?

Ministers & MP don't send their kids to neighbourhood schools. Parents will not move to another location or join PV, if all schools are equally good. Nan Chiau is the most popular in Sengkang & Meetoh is popular in Punggol. Need to be within 1 km to ballot for the schools. Become a PV to increase your chance of getting into the schools.

Preferably attend phonics class (1 year course, once a week) in K1 & Hanyu Pinyin class (1 month intensive course, June or Dec holiday) K2. Maybe you can check out Just education for Phonics & Beijing for Hanyu Pinyin.

WOW !! I didn’t know need to prepare myself and my child for this stuff. Headache now… By the way, my child is a extremely slow eater and easily distracted by anything. Does anybody have problem settling your child to eat faster during the recess ? Any ways to improve their speed ? Cos I know their recess timing is only about 25-30mins.

Yes, I have this situation too. My son takes 1 hour to take a meal. In kindergarten, he takes very little food. How to solve this?..stress lah.

Mine already in p4 n his mealtime is 1hour. Even breakfast takes more than 30min. He ate sandwiches stuff for recess since p1 😓 my k2 no worries when he goes p1 next year. Breakfast he can finish in less than 10min n dinner in less than 20min.
