stroll along the esplanade/marina bay area on weekends (I love the vibe there) or take a bumboat ride at clarke quay?

You can go to kerala state. It is a nice tourist place to visit.

Go for something different like playing bowling? I think it will be fun too!

Try Botanic Garden. They have programmes and workshops for K1 to P6.

Museums? For the month of August, entry to museums is free. Forest Adventure is quite a fun thing to do as a family too. There are often events on at the Esplanade, some of which are free. Or explore different districts: Toa Payoh, Changi, Woodlands, Tiong Bahru - they all have different characters and interesting things to see if you pay attention.

Botanic Gardens is quite fun for a day of picnic right? Occasionally there are some concert performances too...
My family signs up for the annual zoo pass and we go to the zoo some weekends, just for say 2 hrs.

Just planning to stay in Singapore (no sentosa/kusu island/pulau ubin etc), but don't want to go to shopping centres. I heard about macritchie and punggol parks being very fun, but I really have no stamina to walk long distances.
Where are some good places to hang out as a family? My kids are in their teens/twenties. -
Off the beaten-track :
- little India for non-Indians. Try city square mall and from there cross the street to mustaffa shopping centre. Lots of stuff to look at. If you are game, curry fish head at appollo banana leaf or at komala villas (Indian vegetarian restaurant - the batura, a huge puffed up ball of fried bread with mostly hot air inside is nice)
- and likewise, Chinatown, Arab street. Soak in the sights and sounds.
- Malay heritage centre. Then walk around the area. Nasi Padang, shops, the famous rich and good cake shop
- jalan around tiong bahru area. lots to eat too.
- Go for baking classes at phoon Huat
- serangoon gardens area, where chomp chomp is. Chomp chomp still has the old rustic character.
- Cycle / stroll at pasir ris park or east coast
- visit warehouse sales. Lots of advertisements in weekend papers.
- visit plant nurseries. Eg along Thomson road, many that you can hop in and out of. There’s a huge cold room you can walk in, at far east flora where they kept cut flowers. Brrrrrr. -
We always must go to the same places every weekend. My hubby likes routine and dont like to go new places. If I suggest new places, which is subject to his approval and if things dont turn up well, i will get blamed.
