2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

Basically the registration process by itself is very fast - just need to fill up a simple one-page registration form (kid's and parents' particulars), submit to the school personnel who will check through the supporting documents, enter into the system and that's it. But depending on the number of parents queuing in front of you, the speed of the school personnel, the time take depends - from 10 minutes up to 1-2 hours.Hi,
For those who have gone through the registration, can you advise roughly how long is the whole process? -

Thanks for your advice. Seem like should go for Poi Ching and forget about St Hilda.
You may find the Tampines school past years balloting history info here for your study before taking the decisionbbrayhan2006:

Vacancy Left in Y2012 registration Phase 2C for both school ()
Poi Ching (97)
St Hilda (42)
If you are staying within 1km to both school, your chances seems to be better for Poh Ching logically speaking

I stay two blocks away from St Hilda and I have registered my kid in my wife's old school instead. I don't like to gamble with my kid's future.
My point is, P1 registration is only the beginning. Be it school A or school B, if you are going to subject your kids to tonnes of tuition and enrichment classes, why clamour so much hope on the choice of school when it is only going to be six years of residency? -
Thanks for the advice. I understood what you trying to say but as parents , we would always want to give the best to our children.
Thank you . -
Thanks to all that replied!!

I heard that one has to be in the RC for at least two years to be granted the letter for 2B registration, is it true?
About there but there are more things to note. You may refer to this thread http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=420&start=1780 for more info. -

I used to stay in West Coast. I think Clementi Pri is the second most popular school in Clementi.Im also deciding between Pei Tong, Qifa or Clementi.
Mummies, how do you make your choice? Registration for 2C next week and Im still aimless of where to enroll my DD... -

It seems to be, however, I haven't heard anyone able to share why is clementi primary more popular/better than Qifa or Pei Tong?

I used to stay in Clementi for over a decade.
IMHO, Clementi Primary is more popular due to its close proximity to town centre. Pei Tong is locted at Clementi Ave 5 to cater for children staying around Ave 2,4 & 5. Qifa, meantime is located at West Coast Crescent /Ayer Rajah area (behind Hong Leong Garden) thus may not be so accessible to Clementi Residents staying over at the other side of the AYE
