Thanks for your advice. Seem like should go for Poi Ching and forget about St Hilda. šŸ˜ž

I stay two blocks away from St Hilda and I have registered my kid in my wife's old school instead. I don't like to gamble with my kid's future.

My point is, P1 registration is only the beginning. Be it school A or school B, if you are going to subject your kids to tonnes of tuition and enrichment classes, why clamour so much hope on the choice of school when it is only going to be six years of residency?

I heard that one has to be in the RC for at least two years to be granted the letter for 2B registration, is it true?

About there but there are more things to note. You may refer to this thread http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=420&start=1780 for more info.

Im also deciding between Pei Tong, Qifa or Clementi.

Mummies, how do you make your choice? Registration for 2C next week and Im still aimless of where to enroll my DD...
I used to stay in West Coast. I think Clementi Pri is the second most popular school in Clementi.

It seems to be, however, I haven't heard anyone able to share why is clementi primary more popular/better than Qifa or Pei Tong?

I used to stay in Clementi for over a decade.

IMHO, Clementi Primary is more popular due to its close proximity to town centre. Pei Tong is locted at Clementi Ave 5 to cater for children staying around Ave 2,4 & 5. Qifa, meantime is located at West Coast Crescent /Ayer Rajah area (behind Hong Leong Garden) thus may not be so accessible to Clementi Residents staying over at the other side of the AYE

So then, other than nan hua, the other 3 schools are not drastically different so choosing by proximity and ease b/w home and school will be better choice

I essentially agree with this...I live in West Coast and Qifa serves mostly the HDB and terrace/semi-d neighbourhoods nearby...and more recently, some students from the condos built over the past few years. Clementi Pri is also very close to MRT/bus connections...probably the most convenient of of the three to get to if you don't drive your kids in and don't walk. One slight correction: Qifa is on West Coat Ave relatively near the Ayer Rajah Food Centre. West Coast Crescent is not really nearby...that's over near Blue Horizon across from West Coast Park.
