Glad that there are many vacancies for 1-2km for SJIJ. No chance last year!

Oh, there were 60 vacancies when I was there though. Perhaps there has been a withdrawal to bring the number one up from 59.
So the numbers given above are all SC right? -
The updated stats not out yet

Hmm, I guess more applicants decided to try SCGS after reading what P1mummy has written on her posts.
So in other words the risk taking behaviour *increased* after reading her post? Doesn't make sense to me. Has anyone even managed to verify her claims?
I'm all for outing cheats, but that doesn't do me any good if my daughter doesn't get in because the chances are even lower now.
It would've been 51 at scgs if I didn't withdraw, and while I was there withdrawing, there was another one applying. So at least 5 more joined the fray assuming there weren't any more withdrawals.
I like the odds at SMPS much better - 55 applicants for 54 seats. I feel for the PRs - I doubt many of them would have been able to switch as many SC applicants came in the last hour. One lady even came in 3 mins before the end and she pushed it to ballot. -
Good luck to you magic8ball… I’ll see you on the 7th. I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Will any parents in this thread be there for the balloting at SJi next tues?

Many thanks to this forum which kept singing St margaret’s to sway bids from XX, it must have aroused the public and added much to the 26 SC additional headcounts registered today at St Margaret’s. Much registration happened at the last hour. Feel so sorry for the many PR (of which 19 registered on D1 and 2 registered on D2) who have no time to react as all it looked perfectly cheerful in the early afternoon of their chance to ballot for 18 places. Luckily 3 from earlier phases withdrew and gave more room. All wish there could be one more withdrawal but the system is closed. No withdrawal could be accepted. The ballot will be next tuesday.

is always those last minute join that rock the whole boat.

Let’s be fair to P1 Mummy and be true to ourselves that we believe the current system is taken advantage by selfish parents, be it for SCGS or another school. Who likes cheats? In the real world, there are cheats everywhere. I am sure you have heard of some husbands who cheat, does it mean it is ok if they don’t get caught? Does it mean the poor wives can’t sent warnings out?
I know the odds are tough but i went ahead because I felt i should at least give it a shot and leave the rest to God’s will. If my girl loses her place to a cheat, i will be dissapointed or even likely to be angry… but i will tell myself i have done the best i could in the last 3 years of planning and this is God’s will for me and my daughter. I am just human just like P1Mummy. I will have another shot at this for my younger girl in 2 years if it doesnt work out this year. -
