      So your dd is hesitant to go to certain schools because she's worried her moral values will be corrupted?

      haha...no...my silly dd does not want to be surrounded by people with such values....but she does not realise that these people are just a minority and such people are everywhere else too.

      Surrounded. :rotflmao: Yes, these people are everywhere, just that some draw more attention from the social media.[/quote]Especially so when you are from good schools..

        You get into good school is solely base on PSLE. But it is sad to know that people are putting so much effort on paper chasing & grades but neglect their moral values.

          @mummy so kiasu;

          Sorry for the late reply ^_^ I live in Yishun. Yes I know it’s not that far away from Bishan but there’s no direct bus route from my school to Yishun (what a disappointment! Have to keep switching bus and MRT)

          Hm… Seems like you live far away from Bishan… I don’t know. Maybe it’s just that I’m lazy or something. My friend who lives in Sembawang attends school all the way near Dover.

          Hopefully your DS won’t end up like me :x it’s a very big contrast for me since all this while in my primary school, it’s very near my house. It doesn’t even take me 15 mins to reach home. Maybe I’m just not used to all this traveling yet…

            Thanks for your reply. I know it is very tiring to spend such a long time traveling after a long day in school. I am staying in Sengkang & it is surrounded by neighbourhood schools. Really envy those who stay near by good schools.

            My boy wanted to go to Victoria but it will take him 1.5 hr to travel to school (bus change bus & then walk) Bishan is not that near to our home but at least my boy could take MRT (bus change NE line follow by circle line & then walk). Currently, his school is very near to our home. He might need sometime to get used to it.

              I had asked my boy if he is willing to travel one hour one way for a school of his choice and he said yes. His current school is within walking distance. So maybe he doesn't know what he will be in for 😓

                I find that if that one hour is purely mrt ride/ bus ride, still ok leh. The worst is a combo of walk/ bus/ mrt. Eg walk to bus stop, take feeder bus to mrt station. After mrt ride, walk to school.

                A trip purely on bus/mrt ride is less tiring and the student can think/plan things. Enjoy the scenery etc.

                  Maybe you could try travel to the school with him so that he has a feel of it. If he still says YES, that mean he is willing & prepares to travel one hour for the school. That is what I plan to do with my boy.

                    My son's school is just 5 min walking distance NOW.
                    Moral values of the sec school is important to me as he will be going to teenage years. Although I have guided him what are the DOs and DON'TS, peer pressure will have some impact. With longer hours in school, I do not want him to spend long hours on the road coming home.
                    Last Fri, I was stuck in the car on the way home...it was bumper to bumper and literally crawling 😢
                    At that min, I really hoped I had wings to fly home.
