I am not v clued in on this whole IP thing yet. You still take A levels at the end of 6 years right? Is IB better though?reason for SCGS being so hot is because for once, the girls could have a chance of 12 years through train program
most of the IP schools now only have through train for 6 years from sec 1 to JJC 2......parents sure know how to discern what is \"good\" .... -

both SCGS and CHIJ St Nicholas EXTREMELY HOT demand .... chance of 12 years Through train program.reason for SCGS being so hot is because for once, the girls could have a chance of 12 years through train program

11 years later after enter Primary 1-
girls from these two schools will meet together in a Junior College (awaiting them). Everything is like a straight path ahead, well prepared in advance.
after P1 admission -
for next 12 years, parents from these 2 schools can \"rest in peace, even face PSLE less stressful\" . -

I don’t think it’s so easy to say straight 12 yrs, I have heard some girls who cannot meet points require after PSLE to Secondary, have to be transferred out. And for IP, only the top performers can qualify

for SCGS pri to sec, the cut off point currently of 220 is low by the standard of other IP school (eg NYGH is 250). even though the school is raising the cut off point gradually, every parents feels that there is hope - the kids got 6 years to work on it and if they work hard they are likely to get it. This is tangible hope.
At least one foot is in for SCGS, compared to other pri school without affiliation and without IP for sec school - eg SMPS - got affiliation to St Marg but no IP although there is 2 points discount for going to SAJC as part of Anglican family of schools. -

Yes. There are cases of students being asked to leave the school in Sec 1, Sec 2 because they're performing below par. So don't assume that once you're in a premier secondary school you can relax. And IP is only for the top 2 classes or so. The others still go through the O level route. But of course having an affiliated secondary school with the possibility of IP is much better than a non-affiliated primary school. -
Anyone knows how come SCGS only accepts 200 students? I thought if each class is 30 students then for 7 classes is 210 students or 6 classes which is 180 students. Does that mean their class size varies?
A friend said for SMPS is 35 students per class -

the 30 per class in P1 & 2 is the standard to aim for.Anyone knows how come SCGS only accepts 200 students? I thought if each class is 30 students then for 7 classes is 210 students or 6 classes which is 180 students. Does that mean their class size varies?

if the school has gone fully one session, it probably has enough space to meet the standard of 30 kids / class, else it is still 35, 40, etc -

I think it is because this year is the year of Dragon and thus got this unexpected outcome.
today, these two giant schools woke up in the year of the Dragon, roaring ! Many parents hunger for them, eager to charge in. Next year - predict St Marg and Marymount FULL house, by end of Phase 2C.

35 students per class? That's so much more than other schools. So far this is the only 1 I have came across with so many students. Wondering how effective the class will be...hmm......Anyone knows how come SCGS only accepts 200 students?
