if she doesn't get to one of this school because of my stupid act of selecting preference , she would blame me for entire life !!

      Thank you all again
Exactly. That's why we parents are so stressed up over the sequence of choices. Btw, it is always worth trying by putting the school with COP slightly higher than her aggregate. That's what we are doing for my daughter too.

Why don't you consider St. Margaret's? Ignoring the girls from the bottom classes, those from the top classes (made up of girls with higher PSLE aggregate) are very competitive and well-behaved.

It's the distance. I am staying in the west.

So was I when I went to St. Margaret's in the 80s. I stayed at Bt Batok Ave 5 and I took bus to SMSS everyday. It really isn't that far. If you are thinking of direct bus, 174 is pretty fast. Else your daughter can take any bus from Bt Batok that goes to Bt Timah, get down at bus stop after NJC/NYGH (so that the bus can be rather empty after all students get down), and she will have other choices of buses that go there. My days there were my best throughout my school life. I love it so much that I joined the alumni as a lifelong member.

EESIS =Edusave Entrance Scholarship for Independent Schools

award to top 3% of PSLE cohort.
Hence this year COP would drop :-
            Example:
            RGS- 261
            RI -261~260
            HCI - 257
            NYHS- 258 ~ 259
            Hi Spiderworld,

Could you explain why you think this year's COP for the various schools will drop based on EESIS. Also, where do you think the cut-off for this year's EESIS is.

            Thanks.

Zillion thanks Augmum... I have been immensely benefited from reply from this site. It is clear that chances two students having same T-Score is slim... Last evening i almost decided to play safe & put a school with COP lesser than My DD score by 4 points as fist choice... now i can try a school which is 3 points above as 'First choice'

Still have to ask my DD... if she doesn't get to one of this school because of my stupid act of selecting preference , she would blame me for entire life !!

                Thank you all again

u're welcome. i simply just input what i know of.
for some areas that i am unsure of, i also seek replies/clarifications from this site. there're indeed many kind souls here.

it's ok to try a school which is 3 points above as 'First choice' ( so long not too many points off), otherwise u're simply losing 1 of the 6 choices.

                wish u all the best.

                    hi VitoRelax

u have misquote the wrong posting.
the one u had quoted is not by me.
no wonder, u make me blurr when i saw my name but the content of the posting seems unfamiliar :?
to be exact, it was the posting of justsay.

It is okay to put the first two with school higher COP than your score because the probability of having 2 students with the same t-score is quite remote because all students are ranked according to decimal places (i heard is a minimum of 6 decimal places).

But must remember to put the last choice with a school which has a lower COP as a precaution.

I would recommend only 'First choice' be above your scope, becasue you have to consider that COP this year may go up. In such case 'Second choice' COP might just end up same as Your score.

This makes third choice very important... you child must be prepared to go to 'Third Choice school which has COP lower than 2nd choice.

So there is no point wasting both 'First ' & 'Second' Choice . Just choose one of the 'Out of Reach' school from 3-4 that were your dream, but now a not a 'Possibility'

4-5-6 choice you can put these schools as you can appeal to these schools & some school asks your choices in appeal form
