JXnally:
hi, my dd got 237, 1 point below COP and her 1st two choices of sch would be between Swiss Cottage and Commonwealth. i wanted her to choose Commonwealth as 1st choice reason being it is a Band 2 sch and offer more CCA. Commonwealth has strong CCA which is good for JC posting but my dd prefer Swiss Cottage coz is a walking distance. :x since it is her choice, im still thinking how to appeal to Swiss Cottage coz she din meet the COP. :?:My daughter got 239 for her PSLE...
She is choosing between Commonwealth and Swiss Cottage.
The journey to Commonwealth is 45mins while the joruney to Swiss Cottage is 25mins.
The aggregate of both the schs are 238.
But Swiss Cottage is a Band4 sch while Commonwealth is a Band2 school.
Which one should she choose? -
Hi, i am a homemaker with not many friends. My son score 241 and i cannot decide which school to fit him into the 6 choices. Would appreciate if someone can advise me. I am putting up at Yew Tee (West) :?

Are you confident that he will get his 1st choice?I understand that Maris Stella High School is a SAP school. My son is not taking HMT, if he apply as his 2nd choice is he at a disadvantage? Is the school strong in both languages or only in Chinese?
Can someone advise me. Thanks in advance!
He should not be at a disadvantage so long his aggregate meets the mark.
He can opt to study chinese as a 2nd language should he get into the school. -
etanyp:
which school is better? chung cheng high or tanjong katong sec?
Both equally good.
My neighbour was deciding between the 2. Her daughter chose Chung Cheng cos she is into chinese culture and speech and drama. -
Hi Carebear,
My son scored 241. 1st choice: TKSS, hopefully he can get in so no more headache.
He is above average in English and only average in Chinese so to go to a SAP school that is more focus in Chinese iβm afraid he might end up not doing well in both languages.
Thanks for replying.

We were undecided among TK, Maris Stella or Chung Cheng.
Like your son, my son's chinese is not up to standard, so after touring the schools, he decided on TK. -

Mathsparks - many thanks. now then I realise such letter is part of the form. My DD is being offered 3rd lang and HMTL
Hi julongmum,
It is actually a page on its own between the first page and S1 option form. The subject is :
Eligibility of your child/ward.
1. Your child has taken the 2009 PSLE. Based on his results, he is eligible for the following. *blah blah blah*
Can check if your DD is being offered Japanese/French/German? -
Hi Carebear, so we are on the same boat..
2nd choice is also very important that is why i want to find out more about that school. Hopefully anyone know about Maris Stella can share with us.
Thanks in advance! -

Higher Chinese not compulsory as Chinese also offered.
Depends on the school, but you should be able to drop it if you can't manage it. Although this might be tricky in a SAP school where all students are expected to offer HMT.caroline3sg:

If take HMTL, if eventually at sec 2 or 3 can't handle can drop? -

Depends on the school. Some schools insist that all students must offer HCL. Only in special cases will they consider allowing a child to drop HCL to CL.
