We need to strike a balance as parents. Taking care of our kids is necessary but molly-coddling to the extent of lack discipline, it will come back and haunt us in years to come. Not sure if you read the Chinese national who stabbed his mum 9 times at the airport? His mum loved him unconditionally until he took everything for granted. Sent him to Japan to further his studies but he could never complete, asked for money but his mum was already high and dry by then and he flew back just to stab his mum for not sending him money. It became a demand of rights.

So parents, we gotta be careful to strike that balance.

Maybe because pubic hair is hidden? 🦆 :siam:

I agreed with what a writer highlighted in the chinese papers: what did the boy

              learn from this episode?

The unity saga has focused more on the school, boy’s and the 60 dollars hair cut. Was there much reported on how the boy felt and has learnt from the experience?

Maybe the boy dint bother since it was just another act of defiance except this time blown to full scale by his mum.

The school has pre-warned the student, if the student failed to comply, why cant the teacher cut the hair? The school apologised? For what?

Like that also lodge report? For what? Police got time to handle such case meh?

I guess the boy learnt from this that there’s no need to listen or respect his teachers.

No need to follow any school rules as his darling mum will shield him by calling the mata…

actually there are 2 more issues that I find disturbing:

                        1) I wonder if the mum truly understood the damage of her selfish love for her boy boy. When the ah-boy goes back to school, I am quite sure he will be teased to no end by his other classmates or worse still, even ostracised by his class for giving his teacher/school/principal a bad name. Wouldn’t he feel more stressed and upset and maybe even victimised? If not addressed properly e.g. he grows up blaming everyone including his mum how he turned out, then we have just created a potential problem? no? (machiam those hk/taiwan soap opera, 这不是我的错, 是你们害我这样做的!)

                        2) Where is the father in this entire episode? Did not the mum consult her hubby before she filed the police report? If yes,how come she is alone answering to the media? Where is the man to support his wife if the decision was collective? Filing a report is not a trivial matter so if the father is not consulted, it does say something about the balance of power in their relationship right?

The boy is in need of a good/strong father figure to grow up to be a man.
