MOE not tweaking P1 registration

When the day really comes where every school is indeed a good school, we wouldn't be having debates like this.


I think some refinement to Phase 2A for e.g. to impose some form of quota (25% of remaining vacancies after Phase 1?) is not entirely unreasonable.

Just wondering..

If there is 2 school that are EQUALLY GOOD in All aspects.. (Just, for example).

Would the alumni send their kid to their alma mater 5km away, or the school next door?

I am absolutely sure that real initiatives to improve teaching quality are in the pipeline. Amongst other things, I did speak with an HOD from DS' school... a national sharing database for Teachers is being discussed.

Let's just work together with our MOE since it has shown that it is no longer deluded... and it does care. Changes take time but in MOE, they have good brains and are very determined. They have only to decide that something needs to be done. I do truly believe, FOR THE MOMENT, that things begin to move.

If that person is not a teacher or teaching the class, that person cannot be part of the ratio. Don't talk numbers on papers, talk about real experience. And don't point out exceptions and speak about it like it is the norm.

so, a school which has 180 × 6 (P1 - P6) = 1080 students will have 60 teachers altogether? Schools really hv so many teachers ar?

I don’t see much help in future p1 registration. Going to be the same for next few decades.

I think most primary schools now have a form teacher and a co-form teacher to each Pri class. So in theory, there is a ratio of 2 teachers to each class of 40.

Often, I see a teacher teaching the class, and another teacher sitting at the back of the class. Dc said that’s the co-teacher. Hmm…
