All About Inline Skating/Roller Blading

My dd took inline skating with skateline, she is in her 12th lesson now and she can skate with ease and confidence. She took a small group class with her classmate and his friend so encouragement from her friends' presence helped a lot.
We also bought gears from second lesson onwards.she didn't like it initially because she couldn't balance and she is the timid sort. But we are quite glad we pull through.

Ya the Skateline coaches are good. My son learned how to skate there and is now an SAV (skate assist volunteer, I think). Used to join them on their monthly night skates but hasn’t done that lately. Now at a stage where he uses the brakeless skates.

Any private coach to recommend? It is meant for my 7 year old dd. Looking at weekday afternoons/evenings.

My girl is 6. I want to get a private coach too. If you know any, PM me. -

If your child does not have any special requirements on learning roller blading, just want to let you know that a child typically can pick up roller blading by the end of lesson 1.raeshaecheong:

I bought 2 pairs of roller blades for my relatives' kids when they were young, they put it on and within 2 hours, they started to blade. All without coaching.
For my own child, I sign her up for the adhoc casual lessons with a skate school in a park(but they closed down now) because of convenience since we went there often, after lesson 1 she could blade on her own already once she learned how to fall. So if you are learning casually, then hiring a private coach is not really necessary. Just sharing experience only. -
Hi does anyone has any recommendation for personal coach for preschoolers who can conduct 1-1 lessons at a location chosen by us (jurong side)?
Tks! -
Hi Sean Wife,
in case you have not found your private one-to-one skating instructor for your child, do consider private lesson with Skateline.
A 1-to-1 lesson is available at $80 per hour by an experienced professionally certified ICP instructor, your choice of time and location (subject to availability).
All skates and gear will be included, plus Personal Accident Insurance coverage.
For more information, you can email [email protected] or call 6289-4378. You can also find out more at http://www.skateline.com.sg.
You are also welcome to ask any skating related questions in this thread and we will be happy to answer them.
