Some thinks SAHMs very free...

Someone ask me I nothing much to do at home, looks very free?

The only time I nothing much to do is when I kpo here.

Other time so busy. Time flies faster than working.
Not at all. SAHM is 24/7, 365 days and unpaid....by rewarding in other ways...

Mychildren:
I find that there are not enough home based jobs around or even flexible jobs (2-3 days workdays).

🤷 Want to return to be \"part-time\" working mother also difficult. Only mostly full time jobs. šŸ˜“

Oppsgal,
Hey got lobang let me know. I'll checked with u again probably 4-5 years down the road if I still here to KSP. šŸ˜‰

I may have lobang for part time job..

working hours like 6pm ~ 10pm. Easy, relaxed and Honest job but not maybe not many pple wanna do. Guess it's like $10/hr or something like that.
Timing not suitable. I believe Most SAHM are 'free-er' during daytime when kids are in school. Night is dinner/family/coaching time......

Daddy 😧
I think government will say... Our parents can do it, can afford it... So what's the problem? :faint: šŸ¦† :siam:

Simple.
One, who was the one who encouraged graduate moms to have more children in the first place?

Second, do you think most women who'd received a generous amount of education would choose to utilize more of their brains or their bodies? Child birth is beyond the 9 months of carrying the baby. It is all the care-taking and time dedication, heart and soul, more than half your life-time taken away from what you've invested in yourself (or what your parents have invested in you) for the first quarter of your life.

Third - our parents could do it, and they did it, to ensure we do not have to go through what they have gone through - if they have a choice.

Fourth - My ah gong used to say, \"I can bring up 10 children with just one rake.\" He was a farmer. Tell me who can bring up 10 children with just one rake now.

Seriously, how much thinking do Singaporeans do?

Not sure what you mean by \"unwilling to give up their lifestyle\"?

Once married lifestyle change.

After married, give birth to kids, lifestyle will change again. Have to wake up wee hours to feed baby, have to change nappies.
Married without kids - lifestyle change - yes,but unlikely to be too drastic.
Married with kids - change will be big. But with each child, more adjustment needed & logistically more & more challenging. Unless u have unlimited resources/help.

I'll just use myself as example (not sure if it's applicable)
- 2 kids. After tahaning for first few years, life has become easier - financially & physically. Also now easier to go out with hubby & leave kids alone at home for a few hours at night, plan longer trips as family, can bring my parents to short overseas trip etc
Frankly, at this point, I can have more kids.....but I am not willing to forgo current lifestyle/convenience. I dun want to go thru whole cycle of diaper, night feed etc. i want to go trips & not be home-bound etc (ok, I'm one who is rather hands-on with my own kids, I can't really let go to others). Financially, will be tighter again. I would consider all these as lifestyle changes with more kids.......no?

If no money, then how to have more kids? Nappies, milk, education all need money. Same for all the medical expenses from go hospital give birth till don't know how many years down the road. :moneyflies:
